we have looked round and vodafone is the only one offering good deals. 02 dont even have the phone yet (well doesnt say on their website), t-mobile want £50 for the phone on a £35 tariff and orange want £80 but dont offer the same deals. vodafone offer £35pm 600 minutes, unlimited texts, unlimited internet for £35pm.
we are currently on £30 for 200 mins and 500 texts with stc. ive been going over texts alot the last 6 months so really need more texts but the other phone doesnt really go over.
and when retentions ring us back they just put the phone down/dont talk so we put the phone down. so we never get to good deals.
We have rang up about 3 times and got nowhere. First they were going to give us the phones for free but wanted £40 pm. then they wanted us to pay for the phones and pay £35 and then they just wouldnt budge on anything so just stuck.0 -
Thats terrible you can get the o2 iphone for that!!! There is no way I would pay £40pm I don't want to pay anymore than I am the now but I want a new phone!! LOL they will probably tell me where to go!
My Fiance hardly ever uses his phone and he isn't to bothered about getting a new phone so hopefully that will help me get a new one without paying more.
You will probably just have to give them notice to cancel your contract. Normally if you are going over your minutes or texts you get s a better deal so maybe if you give them the 30 day notice or whatever it is and see what happens then as that doesn't seem to be a great deal at all you can probably get a better deal through the website or quidco (never used this but a lot of people on here seems to use it).0 -
i wanted the iphone but the tariffs are dreadful £30 and you get 75 minutes and 150 texts
even on the £75 you only get 500 texts.
we dont really want to spend more than £30 but they wont budge. ideally want to stay on £30 or obviously go cheaper. But if they dont want to keep us then they're losing out on over £1000 so their loss.0 -
You won't expect a contract at £5 per month from Vodafone. If you're saying you use 200 minutes and 200 texts per month that'll cost considerably more than £2.50 per week on payt.
that's pretty poor then. o2 can offer 200 mins, 400 texts per month for free through retentions, if you dont want a new phone.
Reading people's posts above, you can get from vodafone a free phone, and 600 mins, unlimited texts all for 12.50/month from retentions. So, by that, if one doesnt actually want the phone, and doesnt need all them minutes or texts, one would expect to pay less £10/month.
It seems my only option would be to accept a 12.50/month retention deal, with a new phone, and sell the uneeded phone. A bit crap imo.0 -

With the Tocco being a toucescreen is there a way to lock it. This may be a silly question but could it not phone people when it is in your pocket??0
-
yes, there is a button on the top of it that you press to lock it.0

So how exactly do O2 make a profit with this one then? where did you hear this?

I got that deal through retentions, as did my partner, and also if you read the o2 retention thread it's quite common. Even the vodafone customer services upgrades guy i spoke to said vodafone unfortunately cant come anywhere near close providing the kind of deals o2 do - he even said that despite working for vodafone - he is infact on the same 200/400 £0/month o2 retention deal as me. lol. Im surprised he came out with that to be fair.
Also, what is even more crazy is that I rang up o2 because i wanted to add mobile internet to my tarrif. She said it's 7.50 a month, but if you pay £10 a month in total for your line rental you can have that plus 600 minutes, unlimited texts!
So now I pay £10/month for 600mins, unlimited texts, unlimited mobile internet. Altho infact.. due to the credit note they put on your account for not wanting a new phone.. i wont be paying this £10/month until the last 3 months of my contract. She also said, rather than upgrade the tarrif within the existing contract that I could lock into a new 12 month contract, with no phone just to get £180 credit again - even tho I still have half my existing credit from the previous months!0 -
Anyone know of a comparison site where you can input what you want, phone type, minutes, texts etc and it gives you the best deals from the major providers?0
