Vodafone Retention Deals

After reading a few of the responses, requested my PAC code so was put through to retentions. Been on sim only at £13 inc vat for last 2 years.
After a HTC One M8 which EE had at 30.99 (mobile phones direct) a month for unlimited calls and data with 2gb of 4G which is sufficient for my use. Similar Voda deal with 4gb data was £38.99 although I am eligible for VEA discount.
The female I spoke with couldn't beat the discount I already had (15% voda loyalty) and mis quoted the 4gb data deal at £43.99.
PAC Code came through about 3 hrs later.
10 minutes after that business retentions phoned.
£27.99 for 4gb data and unlimited calls (20% vea still to come off so £22ish) £100 credit on my account. I informed him I needed 64gb micro sd so he added another £20 credit.
Plus the usual now tv, spotify deal for 6 months.
Very happy with that.:T
Only posted to help others. Not accepting the first offer advice from here was crucial.0 -

Have a google, it should work on their 2600mhz cells but they are for very small areas with many users. Mainly voda use 800mhz and this LTE band isn't supported by that phone.
The oneplus will by the way apparently play very well with EE's 4g network!
EE and O2 have a worse signal with no 3G yet alone 4G in my area and 3 network is non existant so i am very happy with the £13.50 unlimited minutes and texts and 4GB of data
Thanks for replying though0 -
I asked for their deals on the Samsung Note 4 and Sony Xperia Z3.
They have no deals on the note. Could not knock anything off the price plan. However on the Xperia Z3 they offered:
Unlimited text
Unlimited minutes
4gb data
Free phone
6 Months of Spotify.
Total: £26.100 -
Samsung Note 4 they offered:
Unlimited text
Unlimited minutes
1gb data 4g
£49 phone
Total: £37 x 24 month
i said no and got my pac
retension phond back
Samsung Note 4 they offered:
Unlimited text
Unlimited minutes
1gb data 3g
free phone
Total: £30 x 24 month
i said i wanted more data and 4g and cheaper so they said they would phone in jan when there was better deals on.If you want to get with me there's some things you got to know,.

What were the sim only deals you were offered?
I'm at the end of my contract, I got what I thought was a good standard deal last year which was a Z Ultra (£600 phone at the time) on a 12 month contract for £29 upfront but checking this year a similar deal is £299 upfront(!). I see on the site they have 20% off their Red plans down to £21.60 a month with six months Netflix, if I can get the 20% Employee Advantage Program Discount that would take it down to £17-ish. I never seem to have much luck with retentions deals for some reason.

I just got unlimited mins, unlimited text 12 month contract with Vodafone with 5Gb data inc 4G for £11 per month which is 50% off the standard price. This is a SIM only deal as I'm keeping my handset but couldn't find anything better elsewhere.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -
I managed to get a HTC One M8 with unlimited texts and calls and 1gb of data for just over £25 a month.
Didn't even need to wait for retentions to phone me back-was offered by 1st person I spoke to and requested my PAC, though she did put me on hold so not sure if she was speaking to them0 -

So despite despising Vodafone and their customer service, I realised that no-one else could come close to matching any of the deals they offered me. I did mine through the webchat on their website, if you select the you're thinking of leaving option under contact options, you get through to a disconnections department. (So I'm told)
These were the offers they gave me:
Sim only
unlimited minutes/texts, 3GB 4G, £16.50 with one month free.
S5
unlimited minutes/texts/ 4GB 4G £35.60
S5 or HTC M8 or Z3
unlimited minutes/texts 2GB 3g £27.65
S5 or HTC M8
unlimited minutes/texts 1GB 3G £22.42
Z3 Compact
unlimited minutes/texts 4GB 4G free 6 months to spotify/sky sports/now tv £31.50
Z3 Compact
unlimited miuntes/texts 2GB 3G £23.63
Z3 Compact
unlimited minutes/texts 1GB 3G £18.55
Z3 Compact
unlimited minutes/texts 1GB 4G £25.88
Z3 Compact
600 mins unlimited texts 1GB 4G £26.50
Z3
600 mins unlmited texts 1GB 4G £34.50
a huge number of offers because I was debating between whether I really needed 4g or not. In the end I decided it was a luxury I can live without so was deciding between the Z3 Compact or Galaxy S5 for unlimited minutes/texts/1GB 3G for £18.55 or £22.42 respectively.
Went with the S5. £22 contract for the S5 with what should be more than enough data for me, I'm quite pleased with that. Don't think I could beat that anywhere else?0 -
