Vodafone Retention Deals

Hi, I'm just wondering whether anyone can help me. I am due an upgrade (My HTC is over 2 years old and dying!) and I don't know how I can negotiate the best deal. I am paying £15/month for 600 free mins, unlimited texts and 1GB phone internet.
1) I'd like to pay £20/month max
2) What phone and deal should I push for?0 -
I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 (£21/month) and my contract runs out this month.
I'm looking for a Galaxy 4 or HTC One, don't need minutes or texts just a minimum of 500mb.
Vodafone called me offering a Galaxy S4 for more than £40/month.
I refused saying that it was double what I was paying now and after 10 minutes the best price the could do was £30.
Still not good enough so I requested my PAC code.
I did a bit of research and found other operators doing £24/25 a month which is a better deal.
Today I called Vodafone asking if they could match the competition and they still will not go bellow £30 despite of me saying that there are better deals elsewhere.
That leaves me with no option but to leave vodafone and, when my wife's contract runs out she will do the same.
It seems vodafone is not interested in maintaining loyal clients0 -
I've had bog all from Voda this time round. Contract ends in 5 days, I'm off to Orange - £150 for an iphone 4s from Smartphonestore, £10 a month on dolphin PAYG for 1g data and 400 texts which is more than enough for me. Works out a little over £20 a month over 12 months, which is far better than any of the voda upgrades (I really don't want a 24 month contract).0

People need to understand that the present VF management are obviously not particularly interested in their British customers.
You don't need to read The Financial Times to know that they're more interested in doing billion pound deals in various parts of the world. They had the cheek to advertise their 4G service in the weekend papers, and yet they've failed miserably in maintaining and expanding their existing 2 and 3G network. And I'm not talking about 'in the middle of nowhere' places, a prime example is a prosperous town with an 8000 population, just 18 miles from the oil capital of Europe!!
Having been one of the original mobile SPs, VF in Britain is currently a disgrace. But of course, all these fancy billion pound deals that are being done guarantee the top brass fancy mega bonus deals.David.0 -

Of course they're not. How long you have been a customer means nothing. You could have been with them for 20 years, but if you're not making them a decent rate of profit, then they won't have any incentive to want to keep you as a customer.
This train of thought applies to all mobile phone providers, not just VF.0 -
Better deals elsewhere anyway.
2 clients less for vodafone0 -
Has anyone had any success with Vodafone retentions on a 12m sim-only deal? I have been with VF for nearly 20 years, and in the past, have always been satisfied with the retentions deals I have been offered.
During my last contract, my phone suffered an unfortunate accident on holiday (involving a swimming pool ), so i used the travel insurance payout to get an SG4 - consequently, I do not need a new phone right now - hence looking at sim-only deals.
Both 3 and Tesco Mobile (O2) network are offering £10 per month for 1GB of data+plenty of texts and calls. Vodafone haven't offered me a price anywhere near that for a corresponding deal.
I need 4G at home, as I have had poor 3G reception at home for the past 12 months (something about a mast upgrade) - but according to their coverage checker, I have good 4G signal where I live.
Anyone had any good offers from VF for sim-only deals?

Hi Gopes,
Thanks for your post.
In regard to SIM only packages, our current plans can be found on our website.
As you seem to have doubts regarding the availability of 4G in your area I'll get this double checked and get back to you as soon as possible.
Kind regards,
Lee

Has anyone had any success with
I called to get my PAC earlier and I was offered on 12 month SIM only:
UL Calls
UL Txts
1.5Gb 4G Data
£15.75/m
I said this wanted twice the data for that cost, but was told that was the best they could do. Three hours later I get a call from the Loyalty team and was offered:
UL Calls
UL Txts
5Gb 4G Data (UL for 1st 3 months)
12 months free Spotify (I currently pay £10/month for this)
£15.50/m
So, I took this. Hope you get what you're after as well.0 -
One for the Vodafone Reps here.
I've got 6 phones with Vodafone, all due to finish a 2-year contract in 4 months time. A few days ago I received a strange call from someone claiming to be from Vodafone (number was 01709 765***) saying that they could end my contract early and upgrade me to the Galaxy 5S on a special trade in deal.
When I started to question the caller, they were able to quote the other 5 numbers on my contract and offer all sorts of deals for each number. However, doing a check of the number on Google seems to show that it may be a call centre number not from Vodafone.
So the questions is, is it a legit Vodafone number? I thought I was only eligable for an upgrade from 2 months before the end of the contracts, so 4 months out with a random phone call seems a bit strange.0
