Vodafone Retention Deals

Both my husband and I are on vodafone and have been for over 12 years each. We are both on sim only deals at the moment on iphone 4 and 4s, around £15 a month each. We are wanting to upgrade to iphone 5s but not spend more than around £25 a month each. I have spoken to the upgrade team and I'm getting no where really. I don't really want to move from vodafone, as our parents are also on it and we have the family and friends deal, but i'm thinking we will need to switch to get a better deal. we don't need loads of minutes or texts, but around 1gb internet would be nice, i wish picture msgs weren't so expensive either! Can't do much about that though.
our phones are slowly dying on us and its becoming frustrating. Do you think vodafone would do us a good deal if we both upgrade, as they are likely to lose two customers? and potentially more as i'm sure my parents will move if we do0 -

With all due respect, I'm not surprised.
The 5S is the most in demand phone on the market and tariffs are high to subsidise the price of the "free" or "low cost" handset.
If you want a good value upgrade from retentions, choose something else apart form the latest iphone.0 -
I know i'm probably pushing it a bit - i just really resent 42 a month - which is the best i get offered. I used to really enjoy the old days of haggling for phones and getting a good deal, but know there is no chance
we have a fair few apple products so its not really convenient to change from there. i did get offered 23.20 for a s4 mini, for unlimited texts/calls/internet and free phone, for 24month but i'm just not sure about moving. it is a good deal though. guess i'll have to put up with my phone for a bit longer

You can still haggle, just not so much on the latest iPhones.
Apple offer interest free payment plans on unlocked iPhone handsets, and then you pair them with cheap as chips payg or sim only deals. That's an option you could consider.0 -

500 MB data
250 MB BT Wifi
3 month Data test drive
All for £10.50 a month discounted for 2 years.
They must be doing deals to get rid of s3 mini's as I just got a pretty similar deal tonight too.0 -

I spoke to them today regarding iphone 5s (i got my PAC code last week) and the best offer they could do was 15% discount off the regular price plans.0 -
Currently getting
600 minutes
unlimited texts
1gb WIFI
1gb 3G
for £36/month
Wanted to get a sim only 4G deal and the best I could haggle was the £26/month deal (6gb 4G and unlimited texts/calls) to first month free and next three months for half price. Anyone managed any better?0 -
In a few weeks I will get a call from Vodafone as my contracts up - I got an iPhone 4 from Phones4u a while back - will be 2 years this coming May - it was only a 12 month contract at £36 so thought that was a good deal.
9 months into the contract I got a call from Vodafone and accepted a 12 month sim seal which included unlimited minutes, calls and 1gb data, I also have the 100 abroad texts for £5 as I've got a friend in Oz. my bill is £20.50 a month.
So phones still working, not yet 2 years old and I need to decide what to do. I want to stick with an iPhone as I really like them. I get to try different handsets and see other phones as I work won't 16-18 year olds so they keep me up to date with what phones are on the market!
So stick with iPhone 4 for another 12 months and haggle for a reduction on this £20.50 bill - I'm sure I can get better than that or haggle for a deal on the iPhone 5s - I doubt I'd get that good a deal.
Think ill suss both out but will prob stick with the iPhone 4 as seems a bit daft to upgrade a phone that works unless there is a trade in offer.
Will follow the thread to see what offers are about but do people think I can get a less than £20.50 deal?
I want to stick to Vodafone as its got the best signal at work - other networks don't work in our office.Sealed Pot Challenge number 8 Amount declared £365.50.

My Vodafone contract ends in just over 4 weeks. I called and spoke with Retentions this evening (really nice young man, Joe). I'm on a Sim Only deal at £15.50 PM less a £5 discount for 600 mins/ul Text and 500 mb data.
I was offered a Nokia 625 (my request) and 600 Min, text and 500mb Data for £10.50 PM plus £14.95 for Phone and P&P. 24 month contract.
My grandson thinks this is not such a good deal and suggests I shop around. I differ as it seems very fair to me. I want to stay with Vodafone as they have given me good service, good signal and I've been with them nearly 6 years.
Any advice most welcome.0 -
