Wish I could get a deal like that. I have been with Vodafone a long time but have cancelled my contract and have requested my pac code as Vodafone could not offer me any where near the above or even the just over £10 sim only deal some of you have managed to get :(:

Likewise. I currently have 3 separate contracts with Vodafone (for me and my 2 lads). Just before Christmas I upgraded one of the contracts. The next is due on 8/2 and I was after a sim only deal. I have been offered 300 mins (I average 100 p/m), 500 text (Av 200 max p/m) and 250mb - for £10.50 p/m. Reason I want a sim only is because I have bought an unlocked Galaxy S3 (long story) and I know I will need more data. Even though I requested my PAC code they wouldn't budge on the data unless I paid more. I can get a better deal at giffgaff or 3 (or even Virgin). I've been with VF for years - So much for loyalty. Needless to say, I'll be looking elsewhere when my last contract comes to an end in May.

Not really sure what is going on at vodafone these days, i am posting here on behalf of my partner, he is due to upgrade in 2 days, he has a iphone 4 just now, he was after the iphone5 64gb on a 24 month contract, he was thinking of the 42 a month contract with unlimited minutes and unlimited texts and 2gb net, however they want 229 upfront for the phone.

However shopping about we have seen some better deals, but one that caught our eye was for the exact same contract with vodafone, same tariff etc and it was 99 pounds for phone upfront, through carphone warehouse. He called vodafone last night and they said they cant match that, they are suggesting he pays 100 pounds to leave 75 days early and put his number onto pay as you go and then go to carphone warehouse then port number over, this sounds a bit crazy to me, but if he does this he will pay 200 pounds in the end! 99 pounds for phone and 100 pounds termination fee, so was just wondering what deals folk have go on here from retentions etc and wether he would be best just sticking it out till he can request his pac code.
  • I have been with Vodafone for 11 years and never really had a gd deal. My contract expires in October although i have tried to explain to them that if they can upgrade my phone and offer a better deal i will stay. If nothing comes before expiry i guess they will lose me but bet thewy dont care. I pay £36 pm and have 900 mins ul texts etc etc. Having been loyal customer counts for little i guess :(

Hello. I've been with Vodafone since 2000 and in the past have managed to a get some cracking deals out of them. I've recently been lucky to buy a Nexus 4 and as some will know it comes sim free if not bought via a carrier. Anyway since I was out of contract with my old phone all I needed was a sim only deal. Lets just say Vodafone weren't interested one bit in keeping me. I did try to haggle with them but I was told the deals quoted on the website or quoted by person was that. They couldn't even manage to push up the data from 250mb to 500mb (that's all I really needed). Anyway they lost my custom and now I've gone to Tesco's for a pricey sum of £10pm, 1 month contract!

Did you actually cancel and ask for your PAC? That's when the deals come from Retentions.

I was offered a sim only deal of 600 minutes, unlimited texts and 1.5Gb of data for £10.25pm.
  • My last deal with Vodafone was unlimited texts 600 mins 1gig internet all for £7.75. which is a sim only deal
    Owing on CC £00.00 :j

It's like shooting nerds in a barrel

No, I was still using Vodafone at the time I asked for my PAC. I spoke to a man and he asked why I was leaving. I said I can get a better deal elsewhere and that I wanted to spend around £10 a month with no ties etc. Previous to this I had spoken to Vodafone about a better deal on a sim only plan but they wouldn't budge. To get what I'm getting now they suggested the 'vodafone red' sim. I said what could you do for £10?? They just quoted what was already on the website. They wouldn't even match Tesco sim. In the past I've always been offered a good deal to stay, but nothing this time. A day later I got a text with my PAC code and a 'sorry to hear your leaving us'.

This would usually be folloed up a day or so later with a phone call from outbound Retentions who have the good deals.

    Did no-one phone?

Nope.....nothing.:( Pretty disappointed tbh. Over 10 years with them. Never rude on the phone to them, always polite and never a late payment.

My contract is up on 19/2 and i have requested my Pac Code. Got put through to retentions who offered me a deal that was MORE expensive that my current deal. No calls since so very dissapointed. Seeing deals offered on here seems to be luck of the draw. PAC expires on 5/2 so am going to request another on 6/2 and state offers that people have had on here and will ask for same. I actually got offered a better deal from the twitter team. Keep trying but not holding much hope of getting my SIII. :(
