They just called me! I was just about to upgrade with mobiles.co.uk online. They have given me free handset, 600 minutes, 2gb, unlimited texts for £26. I'm so happy! Thanks so much everyone for all your advice and experience! :j0

Not quite as good as the previous deal, but I managed to get 300 Minutes, 500 MB's and Unlimited Texts with a free S3 from Vodafone retentions.0

Phoned retentions about 2 week ago to try an get a decent deal on the Samsung Galaxy S3. I pointed out the t-mobile deal of 18 month contract, £31 per month, and £150 handset cost with 300mins unlimited text and 750mb data, at the time they was £100 cash back avalable through topcashback.co.uk so would make the handset cost £50.
Vodafone wouldn't budge on there prices so I requested my PAC.
Vodafone outbound retentions phoned me back and offered me a slight discount on handset price on a 24 month deal which I wasn't interested in but wouldn't do any thing on an 18 month contract. So that was that.
Today I phoned vodafone basically to give them one last chance to match the t mobile offer. The guy said no not a chance and told me what deals he could offer which surprisingly was same plans as offered online but the handset cost would be more than online. I laughed an told him no thanks.
I then phoned immediately back an talked to someone else. Told him the t mobile offer and asked if he could do anything, straight away with little hesitation he offered me the following
Samsung Galaxy S3 16gb in pebble blue (I've got to wait 2-4 week for delivery due to the recall issues with the blue one, but I didn't mind that)
600 minutes
Unlimited text
1 GB data plus 2gb wifi
£31 per month with a handset cost of £59
on an 18 Month contract.
over all cost works out at £617 over the 18 months
I think thats a good deal and accepted, I even got him to email me everything to confirm. It just shows that some people are job worths and dont want to help even though they can.
So just to warn you all if you dont get a deal you want, hang up and ring back to talk to someone else and you never know you might get lucky with someone who will help you.0 -

Thanks for you call, however after my first talk with you and then being passed to another colleague the communicationhas come to a grinding halt. I was promised a ring backbut now after day 4 have heardnothing. My Faith is slipping rapidly as I always thought Vodafone would want meto stay? I am out of contract so am starting to look at other operators, who may want buy custom?
Regards

Hi folks
Im currently on 600 mins & unlimited texts for £7.50 a month which is due to go up to £15 pm, they have agreed to keep the £7.50 month ongoing if i comit to another 12 months , wondering if people have been offered cheaper deals, 300 mins and 200 texts would be ample, or maybe same price with some data0 -
I have rang Vodafone on Friday evening and obtained my PAC code. How long do you normally have to wait for the call from retentions?
Thank you0 -

Trust me...the email confirmation means nothing. I got one of those then no delivery. A call to their helpdesk shows that not only wasn't there a delivery there was no order! They also stated that there had been no email sent even though I provided the person's name and quoted the bloody contents to them!
Joke firm!0 -
Hello. I'm at the end of my Vodafone Pay Monthly contract so last week looked at upgrading/renewing. I rang Vodafone and spoke to someone about an upgrade. I so wish I hadn't have bothered!
The person I spoke to wouldn't offer me or discuss any sim only deals only deals with a new phone despite my telling them I have my own phone and don't want a new one. I asked about keeping my current deal but was told no, I'm to either upgrade with Vodafone or go elsewhere.
I said fine I'll go elsewhere, once you've given me my PAC code so I can transfer my number. Bang, she hung up on me.
2 more attempts at calling 191 to get my PAC Code and I failed both times. What an unhelpful lot they are at Vodafone!0 -

I'v since phoned them twice an got them to confirm the details of the upgrade an everything's as agreed. I''ve now received the phone earlier than what I got told so for once everything's gone ok with them.0 -
You always have to check all the minor details, as what you get free might only be for 3 months instead of the 12 they offered. I have 5 contracts with them and it takes up to 2 weeks to sort it out after agreeing the contracts every year.0
