I requested for a PAC code yesterday.
I was paying £10 per month for 100mins, 500 text and 500 internet. I got a mediocre handset with that contract. However, I have 2 other lines on my account which are £21 per month.

Got a call today, and was offered:
    Free Galaxy S2
    300 mins
    Unlimited Text
    750MB Data
for £19 a month (2 Year contract). It is actually a £34 per month contract with £15 discount applied on top of it for full 24 months. I could have got the same for a pound cheaper if I took 500mb instead of 750mb.

And how much were you paying in your previous contract?

Its pointless posting about new deals without listing your old deal.

I have amended my post with more info. Hope that helps!

The offer appears to be pretty good value. I suspect the only reason youre being offered that is because you have 3 lines totalling £52.

Be aware that if the new line rental (before discount) is £34 p/m then youll be paying the increase line rental on that amount and not your discounted amount*

*someone may be able to be clearer on if Vodafone are increasing their prices or not, like other providers, as I dont know much about that.

    is this a good deal??

I'm out of contract with VF (it had lapsed without me realising) so I requested my pac code and was offered the following:
    iphone 4s 16gb, unlimited txts, 300mins (plenty for me), 2gb data and 2gb bt openzone. £31 p/mth for 24mths.

Can anyone tell me if this is a good deal? i'm rubbish at these things!

    TIA

Personally, I'd say given that O2 have an unlimited mins and unlim texts and 1GB data, with the same free handset at £36 pm, it's an decent/average deal. I'd say £27-28 would be a *good* deal in my opinion, but given it's a 4S highly unlikely you'll get that sort of price.

I'm in exactly the same situation, just waiting to clear my last balance then figure out my upgrade; also looking at 4S, but possibly on this O2 deal, as all you can eat everything is pretty good if you end up using it (and I probably will).

Depends if you really need all that stuff. You can get the same deal but with only 500mb data from Dialaphone for the same price. So no it isnt a great retention deal unless you are absolutely going to use all of that data.

Oops typo in the above post should have said 1gb data not 2gb.

But...I phoned them up today as a colleague as work told me we get 20% discount so I did and I am now paying £24.80 a month!! Well chuffed with that!!

Recently taken out a new SIM only deal. Thought everything was good but just realised that Vodafone's latest plans have a 1 minute minimum call charge for both inclusive and non-inclusive calls.

    i.e. a 4 second call (e.g. to someone's voicemail) uses 1 inclusive minute.

I thought a 300 min deal would be fine for me, but as I make quite a lot of short calls I've unknowingly gone over the 300 due to this. Only had this 1 min minimum charge pointed out to me on Voda's eForum.

Just wanted to make people aware so they pick a deal with enough minutes!! Rather sneaky change IMO - this 1 minute min charge only used to apply one you'd used all the minutes.

They do this because there is a connection charge for Vodafone. So it costs Voda or any other network the same if your call is 1 second or 59 seconds.
