Vodafone Retention Deals

Hi
I've got 3 phones on VF contracts and 3 pay as you go, which covers the families needs.
About 4 or 5 months ago I received a call from Vodafone (definitely Vodafone and not bogus), and the guy, in a very upbeat manner, told me how great Vodafone were and due to my loyalty offered me half-price rental with any phone when I next upgraded my contracts. I have been with VF for years now and this was a reward!! However, I explained that my next upgrade wasn't until November, but he ensured me that this offer would be logged in VFs computer and be available for me at my upgrade.
With the onset of the iphone, I have waited until today to use the offer, but got the following response from the upgrade team.
1) There are no discounts on offer for the iphone as the prices are set by Apple!!! and the only deal they can do is the offer of add'l accessories.
2) The offer itself of half price rental is not logged in their computer database.
3) Upgrade team can't give me half-price rental as apparently it was the "outbound" team who would have made the offer.
4) They can't transfer my enquiry to the "outbound" team because they don't take "inbound" calls.
5) I offered other alternative phones but but got the response that they weren't eligible either.
My second phone is now out of contract as well, so before ditching Vodafone altogether for all my mobiles, I was wondering if anyone on this forum have had similar dealings and what the outcome was.
Thanks in advance if you can help0 -
So definately no discounts offered on the iphone? Sure i read in another thread that someone managed to get one..0

I've just written a long email to you with the WRT135 in the subject line, pressed "send" and it came back saying there had been an error! I didn't think to copy it either ! I'm going to try again so fingers crossed!
Having been a Vodafone customer for many many years I've always found them very helpful until today!
EDITED:
Tried sending email again but got the same response:
Error the page you are trying to access is not available. Please contact the administrator for more details
Anyone else had this problem? Thanks.0 -
Lara the same happened to me!! And I used everyone of the available spaces! 2nd one too, but I copied and saved that one. I then went to the home page and clicked on contact us and it sent from there. I got a reply saying they would reply within 48hrs.0

Just a quick question. I'll ring Vodafone on monday if needs be. My current contract's not up till August but I really want the Iphone. Would I be able to restart my contract on an IPhone tariff? Hopes that makes sense. In theory Vodafone won't mind as they're getting me for another 18months on a higher monthly tariff.
Thanks0 -

No, you'll have to pay off the remainder of your contract first.October Comp Wins -Stella Artois Challice (FB)0 -

Not sure what deal you got on the HD2 but alot of people have gone for the Virgin deal over on HUKD. Its £79 for the phone but its a 18 month deal, 500 xnet mins, unlimited text, unlimited internet, £25 pm and Quidco of £35. Equates to £27.44 per month. Enjoy your phone, still looking for a HTC Hero Deal.....I say what I like, I like what I say!0
