  • Hi Guys I would like to show that we do care about our customers.

Joeyjoejoe - I am really disappointed to hear that. Could I invite you to contact the Web Relations Team on the following link. Contact us. Where I can promise you somebody will get in touch.

    Thanks for that,

however somebody called me today (at a time when I had already specified as being unobtainable) and they too promised me to get somebody to call back later on in the day when i was free. For the third day in a row i awaited a call that never came.

i know what three strikes normally means.......PAC CODE!

I realise I am now completely off topic, at what point do your retention offers switch over to the complaints thread
  • having been due for a contact since december I have been waiting for the iphone to be launched on vodafone to see what I would be offered.

Having called today after being a customer for around 3 years I was told that there would be nothing they can do other than the normal tariffs and handset prices as these are fixed by apple and the same across the 3 main operators

It is very disappointing when O2 retentions teams seem to care about keeping customers and are breaking what seems like this price fixing and offering upgrades to customers with free 3gs 32gb (new not refurb) on a 18 month contract for £35per month.
After around 8 calls to o2 retentions and being offered various iphone refurbs (although out of stock), I phoned again today asking if the refurbs were back in stock and they weren't so I asked about new iphones and I managed today to get the following:

    iphone 3gs 32gb (brand new)
    £35/month tariff
    18 month contract

for free - phone coming tomorrow. Was well worth persevering and the amount of calls made to o2 as this should have been £279. She first told me I could have the 16gb new for free but then I asked about the 32gb and she said I was in luck and I could have it for free, she said not many people are offered that.

The best I was offered before today was a 16gb refurb for free on 18 month £35/month or 16gb new phone free on £35/month 24 month contract.

It seems that it is time to start building up loyalty with a company that actually rewards it and offers decent retention offers.

Think I will be calling for my PAC tomorrow and off to O2 I will go..

Quick question. Does anyone know if vodafone contract upgrades come unlocked? I was looking to buy a nokia 6730 but I need to unlock it first.

    Anyone know?

    Off to O2... lol :)

Good luck with getting a loyalty deal with O2, my mate at work has been with them for a good few years and phoned them the other day asking for the most basic phone and was offered £4 discount per month!! O2 are pants!

Thanku for the advice Angellic_Akima - hubby will go to the store tomorrow and refuse it. Its just a pain as he will have to take an afternoon off work to do it. I did finally get an email response, but it was asking for lots of information which we dont like giving out online, so will just let hubby cancel in person.

In my experience most handsets (whether new or contract) from network operators come locked to their own network. I have had one exception - my current phone Vodafone Red LG Viewty that I got as an upgrade was unlocked out of the box.

My previous handset was a V630i which was locked to Vodafone and my handset prior to that was a Moto RAZR again locked to Vodafone.

Unless things have changed I'd say don't expect an unlocked handset by default.
  • Hi Vodafone reps!
    Sorry!

    Another disgruntled customer!

My original contract that I took out was an LG PRADA on a Vodafone contract through mobiles to your door, maybe 2 years ago. It was around 600 minutes and at £40 a month. But a cashback deal to make it almosrt free I think!

But I was getting more and more depressed over the duration. The number I had been given was from a previous customer called Michael Yated! I know this because I was getting calls from reporters, journalists and hate/threatening calls. I wasn't prepared to change the number in case they refused the cashback.

As it happened I was getting more and more depressed and never even claimed for any cashback!

I got sectioned in August and decided to reduce my bills! I phoned Vodafone and tried to get a new contract my LG Prada has been absolutely terrible from day one in terms of call quality. I have to walk all over the place at home and usually stand in the corner of the front door with the architrave centimeters from my nose!

The deals I was offered were rubbish and I downgraded to £10 a month with 100 minutes and loads of texts, I dont really use texts though. I could have got a better deal for a £10 as a new customer with a new phone. She also mentioned free internet. The LG Prada is rubbish for internet so I said no but it was free so she convinced me!

I've now been looking at getting a new contract as I need more minutes. I have looked around and seen a few good offers but I dont have much motivation.

I recently phoned Vodafone about a new retention deal and was told I was on a new contract!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She said shed have to away for a few minutes was she listening for a recorded conversation? She returned and siad it was a mistake or to that effect, she also said |I was paying £7.50 for internet .

I think after this I was put through to the retentions department that was a damp squid really. wasn't impressed and thought I better do it on here. Rather than trying to walk on the phone in the ice and snow as the reception is crap where I live! I need more minutes just to get a new phone, deal with my vehicle that has been stolen and hopefully get my boiler working amongst other things at the moment!

So hopefully you can at least help me out with where I stand with the internet? I went into the bank to cancel DD yesterday for £7.50 but it wasn't there ? Maybe a best/better offer etc or just generel steering as to where I'm going to go!

    Regards

    Too Loose

Oh dear hubby in store still trying to refuse the i-phone and subsiquent contract - they wont let him refuse it!! They keep telling him to take it and ring a number in the box! Surely he has the right within 7 days of order to 'cool off' and not be forced to accept it? He cant get through to anyone on the phone who canhelp either. He was told over the phone a day or 2 ago to cancel he had to go in store and refuse it and now its changed again!
update - hubby waited on hold for over an hour while standing in the store til the store was due to close then hung up as he will have to try again tomorrow. Not happy. He took an afternoon off work and spent it all trying to sort out this problem and its still not sorted!
  • I cracked, and called retentions myself, couldnt be bothered to wait around any longer.
well, the outcome was quite predictable i think.
I was offered the htc magic with 600mins (upped from 300mins) with unlimited txs and internet, with vodafone passport (great, its free anway) for £25 a month, for 24 months!
The operator seemed a little too determined to bully me into taking the contract, when returning after speaking to her manager (which i had thought was to 'enquire' about upping the minutes) she claimed that she had been given the authorisation and was putting the deal through for me, I told her, in enquiring as to whether or not i could get any extra minutes i didnt realised i was signing up for anything!
I did explain that i can get very similar at t mobile, but with a htc hero (g2) not an 1.5 year old htc magic! and that i wasnt fussed about 600mins, i would rather have a cheaper deal (£20) with less minutes. Apparently the 75mins, 250txts @ £20 for 24months and the 300mins, unlimited txts @ £23 for 18months deals i have seen spoke about here, havent happened

anyway, I requested my pac code and hope to have a pleasent experience with T mobile in the future.

    Hi everyone,

Firstly Kymie, I understand that its worrying for you and you don't want to be stuck with another contract. As the iPhone only launches today presumably you are still waiting for the handset to arrive in which case you can refuse delivery and when this is returned to Vodafone they will reverse the upgrade.

All iPhone pre-orders were locked from being changed yesterday due to the launch today, this may be why your previous attempt's have been unsuccessful. So long as the handset is not picked up in store you will have a 7 day cooling off period (7 days when you can return the phone and cancel the contract) To arrange this you would speak to customer care, 191 free from your Vodafone mobile and they will arrange a returns bag to be sent to you.

Holly - hubby went to the store to refuse collection as the phone was sent to the vodaphone store instead of home. He was told there he had to accept it and then return it using the information in the package. He stood in the store and tried to get the correct information by telephoning 191 on his phone, but after being passed from department to department and then left on hold (spending over 90 mins on the phone as can be verified by the store staff) the store had to close. My husband had taken the afternoon off from work to sort this out and the issue still hasnt been resolved. He didnt accept the phone so it is still at the store. PLEASE can you advise me the correct way to cancel the upgrade. I fear unless this issue is sorted out asap our family will cancel all contracts with vodaphone as it has just been one thing after another.
