If I were you, I'd grab it! Get it in writing though, if possible.

    I took it mate ;)
Like I said, I discussed mis-selling with Harpal and he assured me the offer was genuine.
Phone will be delivered on Monday and Harpal said paperwork on Tuesday/Wednesday.

Its worth noting that mydeal last year was:
Tocco (new at the time) 12mth, 600 mins, unl text, unl internet, passport, £22.50 pm

Bascially I said I wanted the same terms as I got last year bit with the HTC magic.
Still got my PAC code incase it goes pear shaped I can return the phone and PAC out quickly.

I'm currently nearing the end of an 18m contract which is £34pm with 200 mins, 500 texts, 3 months 1/2 price and 10% off line rental. None of the phones on offer at the moment really appeal to me so I'm not sure whether to go for a sim-only renewal on a 30 day notice and then wait for something that I like to come out on Vodafone. If I were to do this am I likely to get a good deal when I want to get a proper new contract with a phone?
If not then I'll try to get the Magic deal as above or maybe just leave VF.

Has anyone got a good retention deal on a Blackberry 8900 Curve recently?. I am after an 18 month deal, not a 24 month and currently the price is £35 pm on their website for 600 mins, unlimited text and Blackberry internet/e-mail.

I am looking to spend under £30 per month? Do you think it is possible, they offer this phone on a 24 month deal for this.

    Regards

Have you requested your PAC code? If not, then do so, then wait for the 'outbound' team to call over the following few days.

I have done and they are posting it to me. Does everyone get this call? The guy I spoke to made no effort to keep me, only offering what I could get cheaper as a new customer (taking into consideration Quidco). Last time I called them (a few months ago) I was offered an OK deal but wasn't able to take it at the time.

    Thanks.

They sa it will be posted out but usaualy you should get a call from te outbound team within ~48 hours of asking for your PAC. They will give you the PAC over the phone and then go into 'can we tempt you to stay'. I've always had this situation with my 4 years with vodafone and reading the forum most people experience this.
    Hope this help you mate.

I just spoken to a nice chap in the outbound team (Harpal) and got this deal.
Of course I'm reserving the right to heap praise or join the condemnation of vodafone depending on if what I was told on the phone is the same as what is on my paperwork when it comes.

    HTC Magic
    600 mins
    Unlimited text
    Unlimited Internet
    Passport
    12 mth contract
    £22.50 per month

A great deal me thinks, but given what some folk have been through on here I will reserve full judgement pending delivery and paperwork.

PS - I did make comment in reference to mis-selling of renewals and was told this would benefit neither party. I was assured of the deal in full 3 times. fingers crossed

Thats a good deal!!! I'd be happy if I can get something similar, but without internet, around £17.50 per month.

You would need to have the internet with the magic as its constantly connected else you will get a canny bill, If internet is not your thing am sure you will find something diffrent which would be alot better for how you use the handset :money:
