Just recieved new nokia 5800 which was agreed yesterday by retention dept.
Meant to be £10 per month for 24 months with 150 minutes and 500 text with 3 months free internet thrown in.

However new handset just arrived and no contract details just despatch note , called vodafone and was told contract was just under £16 per month for 24 months so i will be sending handset back once pre-paid envelope arrives shortly.

Been with vodafone and quite happy as i have 2 vodafones and oh has 1 so they will be losing 3 contracts after this , people should be sacked for this as it nothing short of fraud.

I have just had the same thing. Difference being I was offered a deal for £15 per month and when the letter came it said I would be paying £20 per month. When I phoned up they said the £20 is correct and it was tough. The phone is being returned and I will never go to vodafone again. It seems to be quite a common occurance

Follow on, as said in my last post, i requested my PAC code few days ago,

Yesterday i was called by a vodaphony rep, and he offered me...

Sim only (because i want sim only) 600 mins unlimited texts 10£ per month, mind you he never said how many months this contract was, as i said "i have already made plans to move to Three," kinda put a end to the call, lol, but to be honest im not bothered with vodaphony no more,

anyways the Three deal ... which is 12£ ish a month after quidco 55£ cashback, and i get more for my money,

    I would choose 02 simplicity sim only 12mth contract 800mins + 1600txtx + bolt for £11.25 after £100 cashback from quidco!

    Hi

My vodafone contract expires on the 4th August. I've requested my Pac code because there don't seem to be any phones that really excite me, so I'm thinking of getting an i-phone.

My current contract is 75 mins, 50 texts, STC, passport with unused minutes carried over for £20.00 per month.

Retentions have offered a free HTC Magic, 600 mins, unlimited texts and internet for £29.00 per month.

To be honest I don't really want to spend more than £20.00 per month for a phone that doesn't really do it for me. However, I just wanted to know if people thought this was a reasonable deal or could I do better. Better phone or cheaper tariff.

    Thanks in advance.
  • my contract is up this month (I think) and i have been looking at a new phone

1st choice is the n97. I logged into the vodafone site to check for an upgrade and it says im eligible for one. Anyway on my current £25 a month they want £264.89 up front

Does anyone think ive got a chance of haggling this down to get the phone for free?

Last time they wanted £225 for an N97 and i got them down to £50

Also I notice there is a contract for £20 a month 300 mins and unlimited texts which i am going to try and get changed to.

Also I dont know 100% when my contract expires. Is there an easy way to find this out or do I have to ask them on the phone?

I think £50 for an N97 and then £20 per month is an OK deal. I suggest trying to add unlimited internet into the package as that would allow you to make full use of the N97's capabilites.

As for when your contract ends, ask them and they would be more than willing to tell you. :)
  • sorry i meant the n95 8gb last time i upgraded.

Gonna give them a call tomorrow to see what they will offer. Will start negotiations on the n97

They offered me the same deal but a SE C905 instead. This was without asking for PAC or threatening to leave. I haven't yet asked for PAC as I can't leave until mid August. Think I want to move to O2 anyway as there is better coverage for where I hope to move to.

Good luck negotiating on the N97... incidentally have you tried it out yet? I have a 5800 and I wouldn't trade it in for an N97, not for the price difference Nokia are asking, but horses for courses :)

yes i saw that the other day, im going for that now lol with Unlimited Web Bolt on,

no phone which is a shame, but the mins and text are far better the Three deal, ill just buy a k800i that will do me fine, they got for around 40£
  • Hi all,

I'm after the HTC magic and from looking through this thread, I have seen deals of £25 a month for a free handset & postage, 600 minutes, unlimited texts & internet on an 18 month contract - this is the contract I’m after!

So following the advice on here, I have left it to the last few days of my contract (18 months expiring on august 1st) after requesting my PAC code almost 4 weeks ago. I have had one call from retentions so tried calling myself, getting passed through to "promotions" a few times. The best they could offer me was the above contract for £29.32 a month.

I'm currently on an 18month contract of 200 minutes, 250 texts, STC & passport for £25 a month. I'm now unsure of what tactic to try.. I was not demanding a deal and have provided similar deals found on other sites (same contract for roughly £27) but Vodafone claim they simply can't match them.

Am I doing anything wrong? Is it that my current contract has not provided enough revenue to justify such a deal? Or perhaps I need to keep pestering? If anyone else has successfully received the £25 a month contract mentioned above recently, let me know the secret to success!

    Any help much appreciated, thanks.
