That is a very good deal

I'd definitely check in a few days time and get that email confirmation. Wish i had managed to get deal

Yeah, even though I probably wont keep the n97, its a good deal. My 18mth contract ended at the end of april, and I just let it continue until now, rather than switching to a sim only, since I heard that the retention offers made to you take into account your last 3 months spend - I was paying £35 a month, plus spent a couple of quid a on international texts.

So just to confirm, after the first month you'd be paying £14.49 per month for the 600x + UnText + UnInternet, from what I can make out. Sounds extremely reasonable, though you'd have a nightmare trying to get a free phone upgrade after 12 months (Phone Drone: "WHAT! You spend below £500 per week? Well, you'll have to pay us at least £15k and take the CEO to dinner for that Nokia you want).

But would be worth ringing up the Customer Services to check that what you were promised is what you'll be getting - certainly £25 contract pm is normally what you'd pay for that, as long as they apply discount as promised then all should be fine.

    Unfortunately they didnt honor it.

I was promised by the retentions guy that I will be getting it all for £9.99 plus £4.50 if I chose the internet. But I found out that I was put on a contract of £30 a month. For the full story, please check my post in the Vodafone complaints topic.

I was so happy with the deal I was offered. So happy. But after reading the complaints thread and taking into account that I was not sent an email or a letter, and that I would have 7 days to cancel I did indeed cancel that on the basis that they (customer services) couldnt match the deal I was offered.

Please be careful if they offer you anything through retentions and ask for a written offer through the post or email. This is the only way you will get what they offer you. I never had any confirmation and they would listen to the recorded phone conversation although I pointed them out to the exact time and date.

I will be asking for my PAC today.

Just recieved new nokia 5800 which was agreed yesterday by retention dept.
Meant to be £10 per month for 24 months with 150 minutes and 500 text with 3 months free internet thrown in.

However new handset just arrived and no contract details just despatch note , called vodafone and was told contract was just under £16 per month for 24 months so i will be sending handset back once pre-paid envelope arrives shortly.

Been with vodafone and quite happy as i have 2 vodafones and oh has 1 so they will be losing 3 contracts after this , people should be sacked for this as it nothing short of fraud.

Follow on, as said in my last post, i requested my PAC code few days ago,

Yesterday i was called by a vodaphony rep, and he offered me...

Sim only (because i want sim only) 600 mins unlimited texts 10£ per month, mind you he never said how many months this contract was, as i said "i have already made plans to move to Three," kinda put a end to the call, lol, but to be honest im not bothered with vodaphony no more,

anyways the Three deal ... which is 12£ ish a month after quidco 55£ cashback, and i get more for my money,

Yes, the 1,500 minutes are xnet. I have started working from home so now need a lot of minutes. I wanted the C905 because I like Sony Ericsson phones, this model in particular. My last contract was sim only 300 mins, 1,000 texts for £15 pm as I used my old phone but that's knackered now.

untl landline calls & internet, 1,500 min xnet - 500 texts
free C905 (the phone I want) £44.26 per month

if you want to knock down the price of you offered deal, Request you pac code say your not happy with the deals etc, they will ring you about after 3 days tell them you want the above deal, for 30£ and sell what happens lol, at the end of the day they will give it to you cheaper then £44.26

Just cancelled my existing contract with vodafone by email as it ended this month and had decided on a blackerry curve, still planning on staying with vodafone on £35pm tarriff and free phone but planned on going through quidco to get the £90 cashback.

Vodafone called me without prompting today with my PUK code I requested and asked what deals I had been offered. Explained the online offer I had seen and he offered me

    600 mins
    ultd texts
    ultd internet/email
    free blackberry curve
    £24 per month.

That is a good deal...As a fellow vodafone customer, I am surprised that the Vodafone Web Relations team aren't refuting the claims regarding the alleged dishonesty of their retentions dept.

Vodafone....please can you respond to these posts....?

Could it be that vodafone are deliberately using these sales tactics? and hence they do not defend even though this discussion continues?

I doubt it is Vodafones policy to allow their staff to lie to their customers. The staff no doubt have targets to meet and if their is no management/system in place to keep this in check they will carry on.

Makes you wonder how many phones are returned (and at what cost), because of this.

Surprised it has never been looked into by Watchdog. I doubt Vodafone is the only company doing it either.
