I have been offered this deal from Vodafone:
Unlimited landline calls Unlimited internet
1,500 minutes 500 texts, free C905 (the phone I want)
£44.26 per month What do you think?
You said its 12months ,. but are them 1500 mins xnet ? if they are, Are you using that many mins a month?, if you are you should take the offer because you bill must be 40£ + a month anyway ?
if not, do you even use that many mins ? Seems like they are offering Massive amounts of mins to keep people, As offered me 1200 for 29£ which i dont even bloody use, sim only, Unlimited landline / Txt,. 18months, this was the 2nd time i called to get my pac code,
by the way C905 is worth 250£ -300£,
the best thing people could do (im sure its been said before) is figure out which phone you want how much it costs 2nd hand/ brand new remember most people are selling their upgrades just to make some money so check ebay out 1st, how many mins you want txt ,. net, and any other add ons, and say to the network I want THIS what can you do,
that way you cant be lead like a sheep to another deal that you dont need,0 -
Randal > Go into CPW or phones4u store, they will give you a good deal on them 6 contracts, because they will get the upgrade commission, where as vodafone will just save money by doing it,.
cpw and phones4u or any other Direct dealership will offer you a good deal,
maybe even the vodafone stores could offer you a better deal, as they need to Hit sales targets and the Sales reps get their own commission per contract,0 -
Because I sort of ran out of money, I decided to cancel all the luxuries that were paid for by DD out of my bank, in an attempt to cut spending and save a bit of money. One of the things that I started with was my mobile phone. I am usually careful with my bill, but for some reason this month I was about 15 quid over what I usually pay. I am on a Sim Only £20 per month deal with Vodafone, that gives me 600 minutes (apparently not cross networks) + Unlimited texts. I've done the usual, wrote a letter giving 30 days notice, and I really wanted to cancel, not even thinking of retention deals.
I got a phone call the other day from the Retentions Department, and spoke to a polite chap who offered me a discount of £6 on my bill. I was not interested, and after a long discussion, he gave me the following offer:
600 xminutes
Unlimited Texts (upto 3000)
Vodafone Passport
First month free interenet, after that £4.50
10 free MMSs per month free.
All for £9.99 on the premise that I move from my Sim Only contract to a 12 month one.
You guys know much more about this than me so what do you think?
He told me he will send me an email confirming this offer, along with a letter posted to me. And I specifically asked whether I have the choice to opt out and carry on with my termination of contract and his answer was, absolutely!
Now I have never received the email, not the confirmation letter. And through checking My Account on the Vodafone website I am finding that I am on a £25 contract all of a sudden. He said that the monthly payment will initially appear as the full amount and then the discount will be applied on it. I am starting to be doubtful of it all. Does this sound reasonable to you guys?
I was starting to get excited to get a good discount but I am feeling Vodafone is trying to unlawfully tie me to a 12 month contract.0 -
Justpaper what's with putting the £ symbol after the amount like 29£?? They do that in non English speaking countries but not here! It is £29!!!!0

Rang up yesterday for my PAC. They asked why I wanted to leave, and I said I saw a phone (i8910) on Orange that I wanted. They said fine, and said my PAC would be in the post in 3-5 days. I then got a text this morning saying that someone would call me within 48hrs, and someone did today.
She asked why I was leaving, and I mentioned that O2 were doing a sim-only 12mth contract for ~ £11 (the £100 quidco cashback deal on now). She offered 600mins, unlimited texts for £10, but couldnt add internet for £10. I then asked how much it was to have a phone, but stressed I was only interested in 12mth deals. I enquired about the magic and n97. She said I could have the magic for £30 with 600mins, unlimited texts, internet, or the n97 on the same tariff for £35 - naturally, I took the latter deal! I think I might just ebay the phone, and get an i8910 instead!0 -

So you agreed to the N97 (free)
600 mins
unlimited texts
unlimited internet
for £35pm for 12 months?
If that`s the case, you could sell the N97 for £320-400 (ish) on ebay and effectively pay around £8pm (worst case).
Did you get them to text/email the details before agreeing?0 -
Yeah, that's right. I got her to email me confirming the details. I guess Ill ring up in the next day or so to make certain that the contract is correct.0

So just to confirm, after the first month you'd be paying £14.49 per month for the 600x + UnText + UnInternet, from what I can make out. Sounds extremely reasonable, though you'd have a nightmare trying to get a free phone upgrade after 12 months (Phone Drone: "WHAT! You spend below £500 per week? Well, you'll have to pay us at least £15k and take the CEO to dinner for that Nokia you want).
But would be worth ringing up the Customer Services to check that what you were promised is what you'll be getting - certainly £25 contract pm is normally what you'd pay for that, as long as they apply discount as promised then all should be fine.0 -
That is a very good deal
I'd definitely check in a few days time and get that email confirmation. Wish i had managed to get dealEncantador wrote: »So you agreed to the N97 (free)

Yes, the 1,500 minutes are xnet. I have started working from home so now need a lot of minutes. I wanted the C905 because I like Sony Ericsson phones, this model in particular. My last contract was sim only 300 mins, 1,000 texts for £15 pm as I used my old phone but that's knackered now.
