Vodafone Retention Deals

uniqads, I've got about two weeks left on my contract, will they call me before it ends, or just let it run out.
Mike, your comment above worries me
To cancel your contract you have to give 30 days notice. There is no such thing as "just let it run out".
If you want to leave them, ring and give notice.
If you want to stay with them and get a new phone, ring and ask for an upgrade, or see my post above about threatening to leave and see what they offer (you are more likely to get a better deal doing this).
If you want to stay with them but are happy to keep your current phone ring and ask them what they can do... they should reduce your line rental quite a bit if you go onto a new contract without a new phone.
If you want help on what deal you might get, post here what you are on now and we can help.0 -
when the retentions dept called me yesterday, they asked me why i was leaving and i said, t-mobile are offering the c905, 1000mins or 2000 texts mix and match, and unlimited internet, for 31.50 pm, which they are http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/shop/mobile-phones/phones/pay-monthly/sony-ericsson/c905/flext/plans/

Thanks for all the help so far. I have just spoken to Vodafone, have a few more questions, but I will try and ask them all at once, and then leave you alone...
I phoned to enquire when my contracted ended, and what I needed to do. The asked if I wanted to cancel (which I can apparently do over the phone). I said I wasn't sure yet, as I needed to research some other deals and offers. They were fine with that, and said I needed to phone again at 8am or afterwards, so they could put me through to the upgrades department. So...
1. I assume the upgrades department will make me an offer on a new contract, phone etc.
2. I guess it would make sense to research other companies deals to see how they compare.
3. If nothing interests me, can I negotiate at this point, ask for more minutes, better phone etc.
4. If nothing still interests me, I will say I don't want to renew the contract, and request a PAC code.
5. Is there then a chance they will phone me back at some point to make a better offer?
6. If I decide to change networks, I give them the PAC code to transfer my number. My Vodafone contract, which is up to the 29th of January will then expire, and that will be it?
Many thanks!0 -

All the information you require is in the previous posts, just look at the last three pages minimum and that should address your questions.0 -

1. Correct
2. Correct
3. As previously said, tell them what deal you have found and say you want them to match it or you'll leave.
4. If they can't match it, ask for your pac code.
5. There is a chance they will, but they may well not and just let you go....
6. Give your PAC to the new network (some need it when you take the contract out, some let you give it to them afterwards) and they will transfer your number.
PLEASE NOTE: Your contract is NOT "up" on 29th Jan unless you gave notice on 30th Dec 08.....
A 12 / 18 month contract DOES NOT END AFTER 12 or 18 MONTHS unless you give 30 days notice.
If you don't give them 30 days notice, you just carry on FOREVER on a month to month contract at the same price....0
