Just, after allot of messing about and phone calls, got my C905, 500 mins xnet, 250 text, Vodafone Passport and unlimited internet for £24.26 per month on a 12 month deal. Last 3 months of deal will be at £34.26 though. The messing about business was apparently due to them having new computer systems installed and loads of orders going wrong.

One heck of a deal for 12 month deal!!!!!!!!!!

And it took a few phone calls also!! Its amazing what you can get just by speaking to different people. What one person offers you, others say is not possible.

    The good :

Great deal . I managed to get something similar.

So far the SE C905 has proved to be a great phone to have.

    Easy web access.

Music player built in. Probably uses Walkman software.

Easy to use menu and features.

8 MP camera which takes top quality shots.

Still haven't looked at many of its features. SE C905 phones should be the best in the medium term.

So glad I didn't buy a Storm or iPhone now. Over priced fashion accessories in my opinion.

    The Bad :

Check your contract with a fine tooth comb to ensure they have given you what they said they would.
If not get back onto the retentions department, or better still go into your local shop and speak to a real person.

Monitor you bills very carefully. Make sure you register with the Vodafone website, which is easy to follow.

    The Ugly :

    That'll be Celebrity Big Brother

C905 is not a smartphone thats why it's cheap. The storm like many people say does not live up to its expectations.

I would however recommend the Omnia - once you get a few hacks running on it it will be very good - at least thats what I've been told.

I also can't stress enough the fine tooth comb bit. ^^^ I don't want to see you in 6 months time with another post of how you were not meticulous - I assume you have everything written down i.e who you spoke to and what the deal was that they told you?

I have names, dates, times and everything else written down, I even have a mobile number of the one CS people. But, as has been proved only a couple of days ago, it don't mean diddly!! All I can do is phone up the day after I receive my phone (tomorrow) and check out what my actual deal is on the system with Vodafone. If its any different to what was agreed, back it goes.

I'm due an upgrade in a few months, but last week or so I got my girlfriend a BB storm, 250 mins, 100 texts, free handset (managed to wangle free delivery too, lol) for £25 a month....

I spoke to retentions and put up (what I thought to be) quite a fight- does it sound like I got a good deal?! I'm going to try and get a much better deal for myself when my renewal time comes around, currently I like the look of the BB storm but who knows, maybe something better will on the market by then!

So- what are the best deals I can expect for a BB storm? Also, what else are good phones I may look out for- I like the email and touchscreen elements of the BB storm....

    Thanks in advance!
  • Pretty pleased with my deal:

    - Keep my current phone (not interested in new one this year)
    - 12 month contract
    - 250 minutes per month
    - 100 Texts

    Cost: £9.79 per month.

In restrospect I could have probably angled for some extra minutes or possibly got a free upgrade to a cheap phone but it's all academic as I never go over 250 minutes. Also I doubt Vodafone would have reduced the price any more, I get the impression £9.79 is the current bottom line which they then can add extra value to by offering more texts, talktime and possibly internet access.

    What do people think?

As long as you are happy with it.....

If you are a Virgin customer, you could of got 300 mins and texts for £10 a month with only a 30 day contract, but if you aren't a Virgin customer, its £15....

I got my Nokia 6210 Navigator on Voda renewal for £14 a month with 100 mins and unlimited texts for £14 a month over 12 months....

Like I said though, horses for courses.

I just had a quick scan through this thread whilst I was on hold with vodafone. I was calling to ask when my contract was due to end (Feb 10th) but they didnt offer me any retention deals when I said I would cancel. I'm kind of glad really as cancelleing my contract is all part of my 2009 money saving mission but I guess the £9.79 offer would have made me stay!!

Anyway - Hope everyone else has more luck getting the deal they want!

You'll only get offered the deals once you've asked for your PAC code - within a couple of days of requesting it the "retentions" team will call you to discuss sending your PAC code and if there is anything they can do to make you re-consider leaving Vodafone. Keep it nice and convivial and you'll be amazed what you'll get - I do it every time I renew and always strike gold.

However, my wife gets the price for best deal last time she renewed in 2007:

    - Sony Ericsson K850i phone (At the time it was top camera phone and had only been out for two weeks, equivalent of todays Sony Ericsson C905)
    - 180 minutes talk time
    - 100 texts
    - 12 month contract

Price = £9.50 per month permanently (not limited to the twelve months).
