are the phones any good
Can't comment on the deal, but on the Gadget show, the Storm came last out of three in a test against the iPhone 3G and the HTC Touch Hd (which won). Think they said the touch screen was rubbish on the Storm.
However obviously thats not definitive, search for reviews from people who have one.0 -
Just been offered a Sony C905, 500mins xnet, 100 txt for £24 pm on a 12 month contract. I see people on here have been given free internet and email, should I call back and ask for this also or am I being greedy!!!
Grrrrrrrr!! Just phoned Vodafone as I did not receive my confirmation text yesterday and another operator tells me that the phone has not been despatched due to technical problems they were having yesterday. Just to be on the safe side, I asked her to confirm what my new contract is, she tells me, 500 mins xnet, 250 text, vodafone passport £35 per month 18 month deal!!!!! Not sure how this has happened but will be calling the original vodafone guy later........I say what I like, I like what I say!0 -
Well basically you just cancel the contract and start from scratch if they wont honour your deal. Thats what i was told by the team when i last rang up about the phone i received0

TBH rash, "writing stuff down and repeating back to them" is about as much use as a chocolate tea pot if you encounter a dishonest sales person....
The only true way to protect yourself is a) record your calls with them (which they have to consent to and doubtless won't) or b) get everything in writing (which they probably won't do)...
The reason they won't put stuff in writing / let you record calls is for exactly this reason - they know it can be used against them.
BTW when I got my last deal from Voda, it took me ages to finally get correct confirmation of what deal I was on in writing but finally got it on an e-mail.
The ultimate thing is you need to be meticulous and know exactly what you are buying.
The writing stuff down is just for reference - so you can say I spoke to such a person on such a day and this is exactly what they offered me.
This have never failed me, and thankfully I have never had to pull string like that. I do however ALLways ring up to confirm the deal I am gettting is what I they actually put down!
it is all about being meticulous - that is all.

I am just at the end of my contract, and was after the n96 as my last deal was for the n95 8gb free with half price for 15months, at £13.50 asked fro my pac code got a call last but n96 instaed i got a free blackberry storm 600mins unlimited txt free internet for £25 a month 18mnths contract, is this a godd deal and are the phones any good
cheers
I reckon this is a good deal. They dont make much money out of me apart from the Internet use, so I was after the Storm at Renewal date to keep costs down.
I got offered 250 Mins 100 texts (more than enough for me) and the rest of the unlimited Internet stuff on 18 Months for a little lower than your £25 via retentions. This probably more than mirrors my normal use. Means costs are now fixed per month rather than varying on downloads. Also will use this phone to access the servers at my work. (That could be a bad thing of course).
This obviously far betters the online upgrade offer where they actually want hard cash for the handset and the widely available deal to new customers at £35 a month.0 -
Unlimited has a 500mb limit mind you, unlike T-mob and 3 who have a 1GB limit.0
-
its not a limit, its a range they advice you to use, if you use more they wont make you pay the extra, theyll just inform you that in the future you may get asked to pay for the extra usage if you go over again0

gaz77 did you get a phone with that?
No.
My current phone I got 18 months ago does pretty much everything I want. I did say at the start of the call that the only phone I would be interested in was the N96, but he said that was a non-starter. I suppose that phone is probably worth more than the new contract...
I'm due an upgrade now in October - 2 months before the end of the new contract.
Does this still sound like a good deal?0 -
