Vodafone Retention Deals

you havent got a chance of an X1 for less than £20 a month lol, maybe on a 24 month deal you might.
I was straight to the point when I phoned the upgrade team, i.e " I want to upgrade to an x1 and I was searching the internet and found a great deal someone got off the retentions team" i told him the details and he said he couldn't match it but he'll put me through to 'cancellations team' i think it was. Once again i basically told him what i'd found and he tried his best to match it. I suppose I could have actually tried cancelling to get the extra 250 texts i wanted but the man was so nice and helpful to try and match it in the first place I accepted, also there are no deals anywhere than come close to what I got, most places that have £20-£25 contracts on the x1 have a £200 charge for handset. I'm going to ring up in the 14 days though and try for some extra texts0 -
as for ringing up and cancelling with the 14 days, just phone and say you were thinking of cancelling because you don't think the 'package' is right for you, don't be greedy obviously but just say you really could do with xxx texts extra a month but can't really afford to pay more and see how it goes. thats my plan0

If you're ringing fishing for discounts on any company (that employs english people) and you make it obvious you're fishing for discounts/accessories/extra's I imagine they'll not give you a thing. Anyone who's overly greedy, wants the world will just get a cancellation processed on them.0

Maybe not the X1, but Orange have the HTC Touch HD for £29.36 per month 18 month contract, 400mins, Unlimited txts, free home broadband, orange wednesdays and Magic numbers.
I'm only asking for unlimited internet and email, don't care about mins and texts. I reallly hope they can do that!
BTW what deal did you get you didn't say in your post - you didn't make it obvious.0 -

Hi fsrandom just noticed you work for Vodafone, I'm looking for the HTC touch HD as you might have guessed.
Currently I am on the £20 per month trariff with 75mins only, over my last 12 months I have never used 75 mins and I never use this phone as I have never needed to - so I've been paying £20 per month - but never used the 75 mins! BUT now I intend to!
I do have 2 other contracts with Vodafone and both are being used.
What do you think are my chances of getting the HTC Touch HD with unlimited internet on an 18mth contract? I think they should be quite good? I hope??
How about 1GB internet transfer instead of only 500mb - you think VOdafone will be able to do that on their system???0 -
As far as I know, the Touch HD is exclusive to Orange., your next best bet is the Omnia.
Like the other poster says.....there is a big difference between a £29 contract and a £20 one (£180 over the life of the contact). I wouldnt hold out any hope of getting the Touch HD for £20 per month and, if you do, it might be worthwhile asking for a bj and next week's lottery numbers at the same time..:rotfl:0 -
Hi rash.m2k,
The above poster is correct, the Windows Mobile Touch HD is exclusive to Orange and therefore cannot be obtained by a Vodafone contract, your closest bet would be a BlackBerry Storm, which, as far as Vodafone website goes is only available on a 24 month contract @ £35 per month.
Also, the last comment of mine was from common sense and no, I don't work for Vodafone.0 -
Thanks fsrandom, I didn't research it as I saw buymobilephones.net selling it on O2 and Orange, so didn't know it was exclusive.
I don't want the Omnia, the Storm might be OK or the X1.0 -
Well okay,
The Storm is an ok handset, the multimedia is very good and so is the ability to instantly send and receive consumer E-mails. The touchscreen is not very intuative however.
The Omnia is Windows Mobile as is the X1, so both are primarily business handsets and are even harder to get to grips with than the Storm.
Think about what you need from a phone and think do the above phones fill the gap?0 -

I got the X1, thats a good deal with orange for the htc touch hd! I like the idea of having a keypad too though!0
