I got the X1, thats a good deal with orange for the htc touch hd! I like the idea of having a keypad too though!

I'm just gonna sell them anyway.

I want a blackberry style phone and I don't want windows mobile. Looking to buy a Google android phone next specifically to browse the internet, and use it for email etc. currenlty waiting to buy the Kogan Agora if anyone is interested.

BTW you didn't say how long your contract was? 18 months?
  • Play the system for what you can get out of Vodafone. Or any other Mobile Network for that matter !

They want to keep you. They do not want you to move to another network.

I finally got the following package out of them after playing the game as suggested by all the previous posters on MSE :

    150 minutes per month calls.

    1000 texts.

    Vodafone passport for foreign trips.

    Unlimited web browsing/Internet access.

    Sony Ericsson C905 phone with web browser/Sat nav/ 8 mp camera .

Works out at £20 per month.

I am happy with this deal.

I got the C905 phone I really wanted at the same deal I was on before.

Screw them for as much as you can get I say. Its reality.

Like Martin said, you don't have to cut your standard of living. But you can get the same standard cheaper if you read this forum.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL MY FELLOW MSE MEMBERS.

I just got off the phone to vodafone retention, I had no intentions of staying for various reasons but mainly because I want an iPhone. What I was amazed with was how they managed to keep anyone. I was on hold for 20 minutes to get through which is ironic to start with, and was then greeted by the voice of a local radio DJ, "Hiiii!" who proceeded to patronise me and generally behave like a total !!!!!!. If I hadn't already made my mind up about leaving I most certianly would have done after 20 seconds on the phone.

Sometimes they can be total pricks, they are almost as patronising as the three customer service people - now they can't seem to get anything through their thick skull!

When they do ring you though make sure you are ready and prepared with a barrage of really good offers you have been looking at on the internet.

Yeah, got a text saying they will phone with the PAC within 48 hours, I'm really looking forward to being patronised all over again.

I think thats a bad move, I was called on an almost weekly basis to upgrade but since i've got my PAC, not even a single call!

It seems random, sometimes people requesting pac's kicks them off to give upgrades, other times it just make them stop.

I've been waiting for their call and not got one yet!

When they called up to give me my PAC, they asked the usual "can I ask why you are leaving" questions and then eventually beat the offer that I was leaving for.... well worth all that effort.

My previous contract was 75mins, 100 texts and unlimited internet for £27.50/month

After reading the article on this site and doing some homework, I phoned them up asking to cancel and get a PAC code. I said that virgin had offered me a better deal for £12/month +30p/day internet. I'd no intention of switching to virgin, as the t-mobile network they use has no reception in my flat - it worked as a good negotiating point though!

I got them down to £12.50/month for 150 mins, 500 texts and unlimited internet. It's a 12 month contract with a free phone upgrade after 10 months. That's less than half what I was paying before, and better than the virgin deal.
