The pound is a floating, publicly tradeable currency. An independent Scotland would be perfectly entitled to use the pound if it wants.

Why would an independent Scotland want to be dictated to by UK economic policy.

Who would be the lender of last resort?

Who would bail out a failing Scottish bank? It won't be the Bank of England (the clue why not is in the name).

A newly minted Central Bank of Scotland, with the government of this hypothetical independent Scotland standing by in a crisis . In the absence of any Central Bank of Scotland, there would be no Scottish banks. Which can be bit of a disadvantage in a modern 21st century economy.

An independent Scotland would need a Central Bank as well, in order to supervise RBS.

But I understand what you mean. They can have RBS. That will be £45bn please. :)

The earliest I heard that term was in 2014 I think.

3 years later, I prefer the Scottish Neverendum Party, a name I think they would be proud of.

Two independence referendums within 5 years ( because I think we all know there's going to be a second one fairly soon ). I'd call that pretty good going for a party based on Scottish independence.

Does exactly what it says on the tin. ;)
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

Hi Shakey -. Unsurprised to note that you are proud of the SNP Neverendum obsession, but no, we do not all know that there will be another Neverindyref.

Rather the opposite really. Why on Earth should May agree to that? :)
