Parking ticket

Hi

I am hoping someone can help me.

I was given a ticket parked outside a friends house that I visit weekly. She lives in private road and the ticket is from CPM UK CAR PARK MANAGEMENT. Her neighbours advised me to ignore as they get them regularly and ignore them. There are no road markings and the company only operate there as the residents allowed them to by voting.

The road side when cars are parked does not block an access roads or inhibit anyone In fact park in front of my friend driveway. And is always being used by the residents and visitors CPM just randomly come round and ticket

I have a £100 demand in the post. They aren't part of BPA but are a member of IPC

Can anyone advise on if I should ignore still like I am being told to or can I do something else

Thanks

Read up in the newbies faq thread near the top of the forum on the futility of appealing an IPC parking charge.

If you are too late for any initial appeal, then wait and see if they issue legal proceedings and come back to see advice on defences at that time

Signage. You MUST investigate what signs are there and what they say and get photos for us to see.

I ignored the initial " ticket" and have now had the "formal Demand" so I have printed the IPC template from the newbies thread and will send that

Too late then for any appeal. (Which would have failed anyway)

So you now in the debt collector/wait and see phase (ignore all debt collector communications you get)

All set out in the newbies thread

ah no really - that seems harsh

On the back of the formal demand there is a "how to appeal" section so surely I can appeal still?

I am currently starting the mortgage process so I don't really want bailiff letters and what not :(

just to clarify I had a ticket on my window ...and now a letter - no demands in-between its still the initial "charge"

What were the dates of the alleged incidents, and the dates you received the postal notice please.

Dates for each ticket you received. You may still be in the appeal window depending on the dates.

Ignoring has been a bad idea since the law changed in 2012, and appealing a windscreen ticket is usually advised since the scammers may then forget to send a notice to keeper, which is a good thing.

Have you been to court, and lost, and not paid, and been given a CCJ, and not paid? Then why are you worried about court appointed bailiffs? (The only type that can visit you.) Methinks you have been watching too much daytime TV. (No offence meant, but you need to get your facts right.)

    Hi

So the first "parking charge notice" was issued on 28/12/2016 at 14.22 and the " formal demand" came yesterday 06/02/2017 and the second "notice" was issued on 08/01/2017 at 16.32 and I haven't had the "formal demand " yet

I haven't had any letters other than the formal demand following the ticket on my screen, According to them. so no court or dent collectors just the threat from CPM on the letter received yesterday

Ha I wish I got to watch day time TV ... single mum working full time :)

I didn't appeal because my friends neighbour whose house I was parked outside of at the time has had 12 tickets and has never responded and never heard a peep so along with numerous forums on line saying ignore them I did ... My initial instinct was to appeal but somany people said that's how they get your address in the first place

I haven't had any experience in these matters and my facts have come from forums and others personal experiences so my facts arent incorrect they are the ones that have been given to me.

Why would the company told me how to appeal the charge if that's not an option anymore ?

I hadn't got the ticket on my window and this was the first I had heard of it - surely this would be my first opportunity to appeal then?

I think I should go with the IPC template on the newbies thread

I don't want to ignore any thing else if ignoring in the first instant wasn't the best idea

The Newbies Sticky - which you were advised to read in post 2 is the most up to date resource on the subject and how to go about challenging tickets.

You need to get stuck-in to reading it, carefully.
