Massage sounds great, even if it's gone up a bit it's still a good price.
    Clothes will keep you cosy.
    Hope your eyes settled.

Had an awful work shift so tonight I finished the bottle of bucks fizz 😆 Good job it’s only 4% and now all the Christmas booze (2 bottles) has gone!

  • Head is ok thanks MF 🤪

Winter wonderland of frost out there this morning 🥶 but sunny ☀️ Kept warm with my thermals on. Puppy dog loves rolling on the white frozen grass, the bonus is she stays clean and dry 😆

I’ve a crumpet and butter for breakfast and a hot chocolate 😋 I will freeze the rest of the crumpets so I can use them any time next week.

Just about to start work at home. Thank goodness it’s Friday!

Woke with a jump thinking about a work case 😕Awake now hopefully I will doze off again soon.

I’ve been thinking about trying to formulate a retirement plan for the next few years rather than just trying to save as much as possible. I can’t seem to see the way ahead but I know I need
    1. to continue saving £300 a month which will see me with £10k saving by the end of the year. Spend the next 12 months starting now decluttering the house and decorating (once the winter is over)
    2. Once I am up to £10k put the house on the market (2023) looking to sell /downsize & pay off my mortgage
    3. Once mortgage paid off increase savings to £500 per month (to include former monthly mortgage)
    4. Give DS & his gf a deposit for them to buy their own house

If I haven’t sold by retirement day I think I would have to use all my savings to pay off my mortgage. Find another job as quickly as possible. Increase DS& his gf rent to a proper rent as I cannot afford to live off my pension only. Until the house is sold I can’t give them a deposit. I can’t just kick them out/ tell them to leave. So much stuff swimming about in my head I am just putting it down on here and trying to take my mind off work 🤯😆

  • Have been out with the dog for an hour. No frost today so no thermals necessary 😆 It does however mean that the dog was muddy after rolling on the grass. Thankfully she has not yet rolled in anything smelly!

One load of washing done but still no wind here so I have put it on airers by the radiators for when the heating comes on later.

Just having a hot chocolate and then I am going to cook a fry up & hard boil some eggs for breakfast next week.

Should be a nice relaxing day today. Off with house moving friend at 3 to walk to another friends house for the massage therapy 😁 I will call off at local co op on the way and get something to drink (maybe non alcoholic) and some nibbles. LF test was negative this morning

  • Can you potentially start paying into an old pension, start a SIPP or pay into AVCs with your existing company? A SIPP or different pension company would allow a couple of 'small pots' as if they're under £10k they can be taken in full; you're only allowed 3 'small pots' but it could provide an answer to your situation.

I've currently got 1 small pot that will remain that over the years, another is looking like it will be just outside of it, but I'll set up another couple over the next few years.

How much of a squeeze would it be to have you all in a 2 bed property? While not ideal, it could encourage DS and GF to find somewhere and it's easier for you to move when a bit younger.

Enjoy the massage and don't get doing any housework as it will undo the benefits of your treatment.

I really think your house will sell, demand will be higher due to the location as yours is in a good place. Please dont worry. It will all work out. I think at night we all think random thoughts and your mind wanders, you have a plan and it will work.

I am so glad you are having a massage. I am having a late shower - that's luxury for me. lol.

You have done really well booking and having all those health apts, I have recently had the optitions aswell after being sent numerous letters. It's a good feeling to get life admin done but so easy to put off!!

It sounds to me like you have a good plan and fallback plan, writing everything down sometimes clarify that. I hope it helped and made things seem a little clearer for you
