I did wonder why there was no update this morning as you commented on other posts! Apparently there's a save draft option, but I don't know if that's only for people using PCs as I've not found it.

I'm so pleased you had a day off and your lunch sounds a success.

Bulk out the meat with lentils to get more portions out of it.

    Hope you are chilling.

I checked the receipt in the shop and since I got home and don’t seem to have been overcharged for anything. I only bought chicken fillets & gammon steaks so not loads of meat. Must be all the other bits & pieces, veg, fruit & salad. I will pack meals out with veg as I don’t have any lentils and I am not getting any more food.

Just been out with the dog and it is very warm already. Going into town later. Will try not to overdo the spending!

SW, you are the first I've met who doesn't, nothing beats a good daal / dahl for comfort food. Must make a spinach daal soon and learn how to make roti!

I always keep a big bag in the flat, maybe add it to your list next time you're due to go shopping Skinty.

Sometimes a shopping trip is expensive, set yourself an upper limit for the month and try to get it to balance. It might be some things have gone up in price or you slipped a few extras in.

    Enjoy your weekend 😃

It’s blue skies here & dry but lots of white cloud & a cool strong breeze. Ideal for dog walking no coat today. It’s very warm but the cool breeze stopped me from overheating 🥵 Spent a lovely hour on the country paths.

I’ve worked out a meal plan with what I have, it’s not very inspiring and I don’t think lentils would fit in this week.

    Breakfasts
    cold hard boiled eggs
    slice of melon
    cottage cheese & pineapple
chicken sausage & mozzarella tray bake
    ham & cheese toasty
    poached egg & hash brown
    crunchy nut cornflakes

    Lunch
    2 Ham salad
    Beef salad
    2 Tuna salad
    Roast beef & horseradish sandwich
2 x chilli beef (in freezer) baked pot or rice

    Dinners
2 Chicken Thai green curry with broccoli & rice
Chicken fajitas with courgettes & peppers, natural yoghurt, grated cheese and wraps
2 x gammon, sweet potato fries and salad & tinned pineapple
2 x Sweet chilli chicken noodles stir fry
peri peri chicken with Mediterranean veg & halloumi tray bake

    Snacks

Fruit - tinned peaches in juice, pears, apples. Slice of cheese.

They would bulk out your chilli, fajitas and tray bakes. Depending on which type you had (solid form after cooking, not red ones) they can be used in a salad too. Your meals do look yummy and varied.

Don't overdo it in this weather!

Nice food plan. I never do that which is why my food is boring and unhealthy! It is raining here and much cooler I think.

I will have a look at lentils next time I go shopping. Not sure if they are sold at Aldi. I tend to bulk out meals with cheap veg, tinned mixed beans, chickpeas or kidney beans. It’s always nice to try something different & cheap.

The rain started at lunch time yesterday and lasted all day. The forecast is similar today apart from we are also supposed to be getting thunderstorms and possibly hail !

I have moved some money around from savings to cover my chinese on Saturday & £10 from birthday account to send to my nephew. I spent £5 on new tea towels with cute bees on & the old ones (stained & holes) are bagged up to use as rags for cleaning/ checking oil
    in the car etc.

On Saturday I bought myself 2 new pairs of sandals, 2 pairs cropped trousers and 3 tops in Mat Alan with 20% off voucher total £66. I still need to try everything on & will take back any that don’t fit. Hopefully at some point we will get some nice weather to wear them!

Hurrah for nice treats. I am hoping the rain will be over by the weekend. I read somewhere it was going to be a good July weather wise. Have a good day today.

I think they are by the not noodles or pasta section, they also do 1kg bags of couscous; another thing which works well in salads.

It's so nice to hear someone else repurposing old cloth based items. The joys of sitting with scissors making rags.

Clothes sound great, I'm hoping they have what I'm after on Friday.
