  • My SP is on track I checked online last year. I wouldn’t know where to start looking with my company pension 🤯🙈

I don’t know how old the boiler actually is, it was here when we moved in 😆 Fingers crossed they keep going SW 🙏

I cooked all my veg tonight & froze in tubs. I have pork steaks, gammon & chicken in the freezer, 1 portion of steak pie & 2 x chilli and 3 x shepherds pie with sweet potato topping. Shouldn’t need much shopping next week, mostly fresh stuff.

  • If you've got log on details for your other pensions, have a look to see how much it says you will get a year. A
    Note your SP figure. B
With your current outgoings, remove everything to do with the mortgage and work. That's the monthly figure needed on retirement. C
    A + B - C = ?
If it's a deficit, will your savings or leftover house sale money cover it.
    If it's a positive balance, you're fine.

I (we) can live well on just my full SP, which I think you may be able to do too.

Older boilers are a lot more resilient Skinty, keep it going and let it be the new owners decision.

  • Thanks Babs. I had a look on my online account and my sp is £171.40pw up to 5/4/20 & if I contribute another year £175.20pw so should be up to my max by 5/4/21. I will try to dig out my company pension papers over the weekend & work out the rest.

Walked the dog in the frost this morning & again in the sun after work. Was really nice to feel the warmth of the sun on my face for a change 🌞  Not due to last though. Ice forecast for the morning and snow forecast for Sunday.

I have ordered the mini incinerator & shovel online £10.90 and used the £10 voucher from the deliver-oo survey. At least I will be able to get rid of the box of old paperwork that has been sat in the living room since lockdown started when the shredder stopped working properly. I will keep the shredder for now as DF will look at it when we can see one another again. He was an electrician & likes tinkering with things so he might get it working again. He has had his first vaccine, so hopefully be seeing him sometime later this year !

  • The incinerator sounds good, nice size and won't take up space. Runs off to search for one.....

Great news about DF getting his jab 🤗

  • Tasks look good, pace and interchange hard with easy and breaks.

Food looks great, snacks look better as I think at times you do scrimp with them.

Hope your weather is nicer today.

Had a lovely walk with the dog yesterday about an hour. We bumped into a friend with her dog who I haven’t seen for ages so we walked 2m apart and chatted. The dog was charging about like a lunatic playing with the other dogs, so thoroughly enjoyed herself. We were both very stiff later in the day and both limping a bit after sitting down after we got home. DS’s gf massaged the dog & she was fine later. I didn’t get a massage 😕 so was hobbling for most of the afternoon & didn’t do anything apart from watch tv!  I do miss my monthly massage with my massage therapist. I did go out again with DS’s gf & dog for a walk round the block to the pond and back about 6pm which helped loosen up the stiff muscles & ease back pain.

No snow so far today. Just very frosty. I will walk the dog later, not so far today.

Spoke to another friend on the phone who is in the process of selling/ moving. She lost her buyer who was recently furloughed & couldn’t get a mortgage. Now she has a new buyer who has a survey booked for next week, but has found out that the people she is buying from cannot find anything to buy, so my friend is now looking for somewhere else to buy! Sounds like a nightmare I am not looking forward to it.

I did check my gas & electric yesterday and I am still on the cheapest tariff & its not due to end until may. I will read my meters today & submit, I’m sure a bill is due this month.

    So today,
    walk dog
    meter readings
    find pension paperwork
test pink stuff on inconspicuous area of kitchen tiles.

  • Walked the dog in the pouring rain. Bumped into my friend again what’s the chance of that after not seeing her for a few months! We took the dogs on the field with the ball. Now it’s sunny and blue sky typical!

Weighed myself earlier & lost another 1lb this week 🤗 Now lost over a stone since first lockdown in March.

Just going to make some soup
