You eat well Skint. I'm drooling reading the words pulled pork, morrocan couscous and halloumi.

Good call preempting and planning for next month. If you k ow what your budgets are it's a whole lot easier to make sure the finances are spread where they need to be. Without a budget we wouldn't be as conscious as we are. I often say that something will have to wait until the next month. We are strict with ours budgets. I like your style. 👍
Thanks Noaidi. I bought a joint of pork £3.50 & cooked it in my slow cooker then shredded it for pulled pork. I got 7 portions out of it. 4 were made into paprika & bean tomato stew, 1 on a bread roll with Apple sauce & 2 frozen in bags for other meals.

The cous cous was from the chilled cabinet in lidl 99p which made 2 meals. I usually buy the dry packs in Aldi but really fancied the Moroccan one for a change & the halloumi was also Lidl £1.49 slices into 6 slices for 3 meals. I like nice food but try to make it into several meals to spread the cost. I only shopped at lidl to use the free £5 for downloading the lidl plus app 😁 I will be back to aldi next week.

That’s a good budget, Skint. In many respects, a lot like mine except you are definitely more disciplined.

It brightened up this afternoon so I took puppy dog out to the foreshore after work so she could have a swim. It’s a rocky little beach just mostly dog walkers. She was splashing around really enjoying herself 😃

    s - nuts
    l - jacket potato & tuna salad
    low fat, low sugar yoghurt
    s - cottage cheese & oat cakes

If it’s not raining too bad I will go shopping after work tomorrow. Forecast is for 70mph winds 😳

Walked in the rain this morning but the wind was light until later in the day & now it’s really gusting.

Waterproof walking shoes arrived today & are really comfy. Great for the price, I just need to test them out on a wet grass day to see if they are waterproof. If it’s pouring with rain I wear my wellies.
Went shopping after work, total spend £21.85.
    3 courgettes. 45p (Super 6)
    3 peppers. 1.29
    cucumber. 45p (Super 6)
    peach squash.  69p
6 eggs medium 75p free range
    1pack micro rice 37p basmati
    greek layered yoghurts 85p
    garlic granuals.  45p
    5 pack bananas 69p
    spray cleaner 69p
    cottage cheese 75p
    spicy wings £1.99
    belly pork with chilli £2.99
    Frozen potato wedges 75p
    milk 4pint.                 1.09
    9 pack toilet rolls       2.09
    wheat crackers.           69p
    50/50 kingsmill bread. 95p
    Frozen chicken tikka   £1.19
    Frozen chicken tikka   £1.19
    Mini sun cream spf30. 1.49
The spicy wings will do 2 meals & belly pork will be enough for 2 other meals. I will have some over the bank holiday weekend as a treat so I won’t be tempted by a takeaway.
The sun cream is a mini bottle that fits in my little handbag as my previous one has run out.
The frozen tikka meals are lovely with plenty of chicken & pilau rice with authentic spices & cardamom / cloves in the rice.
Total spend this month £138.26. My budget for next month is £120 and I’m sure I can do it. 4 weeks x £30 a week. All shopping will be from Aldee
    Food today
    B - ham & cheese toastie
    S - strawberries
L -small portion of skinny fries with pulled pork & melted cheese & sweet chilli sauce
    S - melon
D - home made balti curry from freezer. Half pack micro rice. 1 popadom.

The popadoms are a box of 8 low fat Sharwoods £1 bought in local grocery shop. Just wet under tap & cook in microwave. I think they also sell them in b&m or home bargains. It means I can have just one at a time instead of buying a whole pack of precooked ones & eating lots of them or wasting some/throwing some away as they go soft & don’t keep long.

    They arrived quick 🤗
Your shopping spend for the month has been ok, especially when cleaning products are purchased. I'm sure the shops sell poppadom crisps, multipack, which may be another option instead of normal poppadoms.

    Enjoy your curry!

Shoes arrived very quickly I was surprised.

I think for me the microwaveable popadom is better as I’m trying to reduce fat & sugar. Never thought of popadom crisps.

Being boring now 😂 I usually compare per 100g but in this case I have compared per “portion” what I would be likely to eat with a curry.

    Sensations 6 x 13g.
    Per bag 13g = 64kcal
    fat 3.2 sat fat. 0.3g
    sugar 0.7g
    fibre 0.3g
    protein 0.8
    salt 0.36g

    8 Sharwoods cook in microwave
    Per popadom = 35kcal.
    Fat <0.5g sat fat <0.1g
    sugar 0.1g
    fibre 1.1g
    Protein 2.5g
    salt 0.68g.

Of course the problem with the 6 packs of popadom crisps would also be stopping at one bag 😆 I have no willpower 🙄

It was an off the cuff idea and may have worked, you are becoming more aware of what's in food which is really good 🤗
