Yum that made me hungry. I only gave £10 to Captain Tom well done you! It is hard waiting for this equipment. You are doing the right thing staying busy. Steve is shielded in his flat and isn't allowed to leave so everyday he cleans something. It is really difficult. I hope the equipment comes soon. If you can make some plans of what you would like to do in the future.

  • Nice dog walk in the sun this morning. She was well behaved which was a relief.

The dog paddling pool has a leak so I have been trying to find the hole. It’s a solid plastic pool and I will have a go at sealing it tomorrow once it’s dry.

Did a load of washing which line dried. Sorted the shed & piled up more junk to go to the tip. Got the sun parasol & deck chair out and sat in the garden for a while until it got too hot. ☀️

Phoned to renew magazine subscription for DF as Xmas/birthday pressie. No renewal letter received. Paid from Xmas/birthday fund & they will send him a copy of April’s magazine too, so 13 months for the price of 12. 😊

Morning, well done on all the washing. I hope you can sort the paddling pool out. Magazine subscription is a great idea for your father and well done on extra month. The sun is shining already here. Have a good day.

Was half an hour later walking the dog this morning and was shocked how many people were ignoring the guidelines. Groups of people sat on benches with cups of Costa & sat on blankets in the park. 😕 More reports on the local news too. We are heading for longer lockdown or a second peak at this rate. Whatever happened to Stay at Home & protect the NHS. Most of these people were probably out clapping for the NHS & carers on Thursday!

Have started to empty the utility room so I can decorate. I have paint bought ages ago & roller etc. I am “on annual leave” the first week of May so even if my specialist work equipment turns up I will be decorating that week.

OMG I don't understand why they are all going out having said that one of my work friends is but I think it's because she wants to be distracted from financial problems. Glad you are on annual leave in May well done on planning to decorate the utility room but do take it easy. Painting is exhausting. I could paint my fences (loads of fence care paint in garage from last year) but I am leaving it till the summer as it makes me ache!!!!

I'm seeing more and more people around with each passing day. People are bored at home, the weather is nice, they may / may not be working and just want to do 'something'.

What colour(s) have you opted for? Just take it slow, do a wall and stop for a few days so you don't overdo it.

I’ve got no problem with people going out for work, shopping, exercise etc. I just don’t see how sitting in the park sunbathing, drinking coffee and having a picnic is justified under lockdown. Especially when deaths have reached over 20,000.

Anyway it’s starting to get to me. If my DF can stick to the guidelines and not take flowers to the garden of remembrance for DM despite being upset about it why can’t others stick to the rules. What happened to “we’re all in it together”? At least if we get the rain forecast next week people might stay home instead of feeling a sense of “it’s alright” just because the weather is nice.

Moved remaining money to savings. Got mince out of the freezer to defrost overnight so I can make a batch of chilli tomorrow. Had a curry for dinner using defrosted leftover beef from slow cooker, a few tinned tomatoes and madras paste. Will use remains of the tin of tomatoes in the chilli tomorrow.

I completely agree with you both.  Enjoy the curry. Have a good day today.

  • Have fed the dog and am now back in bed listening to the rain.
I cut the grass yesterday evening as rain was forecast for today. If I cut it when it’s hot and sunny it just dies.
The rain will wash the car ☺️
Made a batch of chilli yesterday. Spent most of the day reading my book & sorting more from the utility room.
