  • I’m eating loads too SW. Probably why I’ve put on 1lb 😳
I’ve been less active for about a week now so I must find the motivation to do more. I am
still walking the dog daily for about an hour, but am then sitting around eating biscuits for the rest of the day 😵

    Tomorrow I must
-sort house insurance due 1 May have not received renewal letter

    -scrub patio with disinfectant (zoflora)

    - wash wooden stairs/ skirtings in hall & hoover hall, stairs & landing

Skinty don't worry you are doing one hour more than me and all I am doing is eating in spare time. lol. Well done on tidying in hall and scrubbing the patio. That's a big job.

  • Had a lovely dog walk this morning. Saw a huge rabbit 🐇 in the field (was brown but not a hare as it’s ears were too small) and then 3 foxes in the next field 🦊 🦊 🦊 Watch out Brer Rabbit!!

Phoned home insurance who state renewal letter was sent end of March. They will send a new letter. Last year £176. Renewal £206. So far online quotes for same cover (including away from home/bike/accidental damage) with same excess coming in at £280 😧 Will try some more comparison sites tomorrow, I just need to work out how close we are to next door’s tree & the local pond 😐

Good news this evening my uncle is home after successful day surgery for cancer. Fingers crossed that he won’t need further treatment 🤞

Still no news about my work equipment! Have been waiting 4 weeks.

Brer Rabbit lol. Your home insurance sounds v high I am sure you can get a better deal from MSE. Glad your uncle is home. Fantastic news and I hope he makes a quick recovery. Have you heard whether others are in the same boat with regard to the equipment? We were very lucky at our workplace my lessons can be taught online on my home computer. You should still be being paid as normal I hope.

  • Yes I’m lucky I am being paid as normal.

I can get cheaper quotes for Home insurance but less cover or higher excess. I have building and contents, accidental damage, away from home & bike cover. I don’t like using companies I’ve never heard of.  Last year the cheapest was direct line £176.  Renewal is £206. I used the MSE guide & can get similar cover with Tesco for £186. I will use this to try & barter with direct line.

Skinty good luck with the bartering. Glad you are being paid. I hope you have a good day today.

  • Spent another afternoon trying to sort house insurance, it’s doing my head in now ! 🤪
    Renewal £206 reduced to £196,
    Tesco £186, British gas £174

However I cannot speak to anyone at British Gas or Tesco to check cover. Small print does not include DS’s gf only me, any partner I have & mine or partners children. Does not cover children’s partner ! Direct line do cover DS’s gf as I added her last year & double checked today. Think I am just going to give up this year & renew with direct line 😕
Walked the dog this morning & just missed the rain which started around 10am till around 4pm.  Also did some sorting & tidying and have a huge amount to go to the tip.

For the sake of a few quid and your sanity, go with DL then look to move it next year when everything is calmer and it's easier to speak with people.

I bet puppy dog is enjoying having you around all the time!
