  • I am feeling unwell today with stomach ache. I did too much comfort eating yesterday 🙁 and it has to stop.

I have weighed myself and I am 11st 5. I need to lose about a stone. As I am not very mobile at the moment I need to eat more healthily. Plans for today

    breakfast - porridge
lunch - home made soup, carrot potato & onion & stock cube
Dinner - fajhitas, chicken fillet with courgette, pepper, onion & wraps (1 or 2)
    Snacks - banana, pear.

Hopefully this will be something I can focus on instead of worrying about whether we are all going to be forced to stay at home / work from home and whether we will run out of food ! I know it’s probably my anxiety building up. Was even wondering whether in 2 weeks time they will stop people movement and I will not be able to go up north. Who knows! I am trying not to think about it. (Am not successful so far this morning! 🙄 )

Nothing wrong in comfort eating, as long as it's the right food / snacks. Are you drinking enough liquids?

    Your meal plan sounds good.

Stop thinking about what if's, I know it's easier said than done, but we cannot change what is going to happen in the future. The UK can't force people to stay in their homes, too many people wouldn't and would just carry on going out.

What can you do for now?
    -Read books,
-plan your basic budget for the remainder of the year, so you know what bills and regular outgoings you have and how much money you have left,
-plan what you will do with that spare money,
-think about what meals / food you like and perhaps look up some recipes of some you would like to cook but never have
-watch some TV programs, not the news
-plan what you are doing with your garden this year
    -do marking or lesson planning
    -phone DF, say hello
-go to the Winchester for a pint and wait for it to all blow over......

Yesterday I drank endless decaf tea, peach squash (can’t drink orange no citrus fruits allowed due to stomach issues). Also had 2 naughty cans of Pepsi max. Not supposed to drink carbonated drinks.

Also ate about 6 chocolate biscuits and 2 bags of crisps 😵

    Must “get a grip”. !!

I have just realised it’s my sisters birthday next week. Found a card in my stash, have stamps in my purse & popped in the £10 note which I took from the cash point the other day when I thought I would have to go to the hospital drop-in with my leg. I will transfer £10 from my Xmas/birthday account into my current account & will save me from spending £10 on junk / bad snacks. Cash never stays in my purse for long!

Soup is simmering on the hob, smells lovely 😊

Therefore no clean water, tut tut SYA.
I'm a fizzy drinks gal too, but swapped to squash. I know it's no where near as much fun as pop, but needs must.

Have you ever baked your own nibbles? At least you can control the sweetness and what goes in them.

  • I drink water from the cooler at work, but mostly peach squash & pear squash at home from Aldi. I keep a large bottle of water in the fridge at home and top it up with tap water.

I have been out to get petrol. When I went in to pay they had toilet rolls & handwash so got one of each. We were down to the last toilet roll 😯 & last drops of handwash. I posted my sisters card on the way home.

Have had some yummy soup for lunch & hung out a load of washing. Watching tv now with puppy dog 🐶

Well it’s been a bit of a shock hearing that people with diabetes are more vulnerable to Coronavirus and should socially distance themselves 😵. I am now off work until they sort my computer at home. I’ve got 2 weeks of food from Aldi £57.48. No tinned stuff in sight but managed to get meat, fruit & veg. Got a big bag of jacket size potatoes and beef, carrots & swede so will make a stew in my slow cooker. DS & his gf are still working so I will have to get them to bring me shopping when I need it and I have cancelled my lunch with a friend later this week ! 😕

I drove to the park this afternoon with the dog and she had a run around after her ball. 😊 Still not able to walk far but that is the first time I have taken her out for weeks. DS & his gf have been walking her. This afternoon I cleaned the bathroom & cut the grass. My little hover mower is very light and like hoovering so it’s very quick and not much walking. Can’t believe how long the grass had got. Also sprayed the weeds that are popping up with weedkiller.

New council tax bill has arrived. Increasing from £148 to £154 a month

    It's a precaution SYA.

Think of the positives of working at home:
    - get a bit of a lie-in,
    - work in your PJs,
    - having puppy dog supervising you all day,
    - getting your nice tea / coffee in your favourite mug
    - not having to pack your lunch and can change your mind when it's time to eat
    - can stand up and have a stretch
    - can rest your leg and give it time to get better quicker
    - can play music or have the TV on in the background
    - very short commute

Treat it like a holiday, get spoilt by DS and GF AND they can bring round the heavy foods you struggle home with.

Just have to wait it out and things will return to normal.

Still waiting to hear whether my work equipment will turn up. Plans for today

    1. Wipe down all kitchen / bathroom surfaces & door handles / taps. ✅

    2. Take dog to park. Will drive there & back and let her out to run around. Minimal walking for me as leg still sore & I need to keep 2 meters away from people per social distancing guidelines

    3. Change light bulb at top of stairs

    4. hoover dog carpet
