Sky BB & Talk price rises

I guess I'm not the only one but I received notification of my BB unlimited price rising by £2.50 p/month and line rental by £1.59 p/month from 1st March (plus call rate rises).
Is it worth me ringing them and haggling, with a view to changing and, if I were to change who do people recommend, I won't go to Talk Talk, Virgin or Plusnet?

Try EE if you don't like all the other providers0

To bring you in line with the new 'brilliant' price for a combination of line and broadband, which is more than the sum of the individual services, before.
I went from Sky to PlusNet and regret it (poor broadband). I was considering Talktalk, but they made a large price increase at combination price time, ruling them out.
The best offer from Sky was free ADSL, which was poor compared to my previous free broadband and half price line, but nowadays it actually looks good.0 -

I went from Talk to Talk (shudders) to PlusNet who were superb at first but soon tailed off and then to Sky with whom, I must say I've been very happy for 18 months.
I'll try a call to them to see if I can get any reduction - if you don't ask you certainly don't get.Live long and prosper0 -

I has been suggested, before an engineer is sent that I try the phone unplugged overnight, so they can look for drops in that period (ruling out a faulty phone; no problems with the phone and Sky) and unplug my Sky box from the wall socket (I told the man that Sky has been wifi for at least 4 years), but that doesn't apply.0 -
Hi
Can someone help how to go about negotiating/leaving sky on the broadband side (I have no tv contract)
My B/B contract ends in March. I have just heard line rental prices are going up in March.
I understand you can give 30 days notice to leave (like the TV side??)
How do i play it? Do I cancel 30 days before and then have 30 days to change my mind?
What is the best way to play it and get a "good" deal?
Can anyone say what kind of deals you can get nowadays on B/B with Sky?
thanks0 -
35 minutes on hold to PlusNet, this morning and they have admitted that there is a fault with my internet (Four or five drops today ,alone, with drops to speeds too low to even load Ookla and at least one drop a day, for ages).

I know exactly what you're going through. At first with PlusNet I had intermittent problems; drop outs, ridiculously low speeds etc and they did everything they could, sent me a new modem even to the point of contacting OpenReach on my behalf and arranging an engineer visit which turned out very productive.
Then, about 8 months later I started having modem problems and when I enquired about them sending me a new modem, they said no they would only send an engineer and, if the problem was found to be a local one then I would be charged. I don't have a problem with them charging if it was something I could have alleviated but I was shocked at the difference in customer service together with the fact that they obviously thought I wouldn't have changed filters, checked there was no interference etc
The PlusNet adverts just make me laugh now, talking about great customer service.
Anyway enough negative talk and, to qualify this post I'll end by categorically saying I'd rather be with PlusNet than Talk Talk that's for sure. Good luck with getting sorted.Live long and prosper0 -
Tried yesterday on the phone and again today on live chat and they're not moving whatsoever on the price increase. Looks like it's Virgin for me.0

I also had no luck renegotiating with Sky few weeks ago. Ridiculous how they were offering much lower prices to new customers and yet unwilling to keep my old price. I guess loyalty is a punishable offence. Oh well, off I go moving to someone cheaper.0 -

I asked about the Sky Loyalty scheme they're supposedly starting and he said it's not finalised yet, that said someone on the Sky haggling guide says they've just had an out of the blue(?) letter offering his present 50% off deal for 18 months more with no contract. is this the start of it?0
