Hi motivated Happy New Year. What a pain in the butt about the car. If it was me I would take up the loan offer. If OH can't get to work you really would be in more trouble money wise. I know what you mean about thinking everything is ticking along nicely then ....... I let out houses which provides a nice income but like most people I have debts and if anything goes wrong with them I don't have savings to pay for it. I have to act promptly to keep my lovely tenants happy too. Hence I am on here trying to sort my life out but never getting to that stage where I have an emergency fund!

You are doing so well, are you self managing your dmp?

    Hi AB

Yes we are self managing our DMP through NEDCAB. You are so right that we really would be knackered if DH can’t work.

    Money eh. :)

First day back at work done :) although I'm shattered I didn't sleep very well last night, probably due to the excitement of going back to work :p

My eBay listings didn't sell and I had a message from one potential buyer. I got the impression though that they were after me selling it to them for next to nothing because they. "Haven't tried it on" I said I will be resisting it and lowering the price which I have done and we shall see. I have 2 bids on it already so there is hope. I have a reserved price on it purely because it was expensive when I bought it and has been worn only once. I haven't taken the mick with the price but I can't let it go for peanuts. We'll see.

DH's payday tomorrow so budgets need to be done and shopping list written. We still have lots of freezer food and some meals that I made and froze too. Strictly buying ONLY what we need.

DH has been getting a lift to work. A colleague has been coming right out of his way to pick him up and drop him off. We will be giving him petrol money but how kind. :A

I've had a bath already and feel an early night coming on :D

    Evening diary world

Had a really interesting day at work today. It was another inset day with no students. I work in a religious school. We had a reflection retreat day. Now I'm not religious, many of the staff I work with are and many follow a range of different faiths. The speakers were so inspiring and reflected on life in general not only the religious side of working in a faith school. Most of what they were saying about life challenges and life in general rung so many bells with me. It's a good job people couldn't hear what I was thinking. I related to most if not all of the points they made. My financial situation for one.

The area I work in is at the bottom of the list for debt, poverty, homelessness, children in need, families in temporary accommodation, gang activity. The list goes on.

I'm not the only one on the poverty line then.

Anyway I thoroughly enjoyed it as it was like anothe LBM going off in my head in that I am even more determined to sort myself out.

I even went as far as attending the church service with many other staff. The priest approached me and asked how I was etc and asked if he could support me with anything. I was thinking he's read my diary on here :rotfl: I was tempted to chat to him and tell all. I resisted the temptation to air all my dirty laundry in church and just asked for guidance and support in a current journey that I am on.

He placed his hands on my head and gave me a blessing and said to me I have to be strong, committed and believe and if I wasn't with 150 other adults I would've cried, I felt like a weight had been lifted somehow. How strange is that.

Anyway the weekend is here and I've been grocery shopping this evening so one less job to do tomorrow. All within budget and only things on my list were purchased. I spotted a few offers that they craftily place around the store in order for you to buy them. I carried on walking past. Go me!

Housework to do tomorrow :( but no plans to do much else.

    Sorry peeps

I'm not going all religious preacher on you I promise :o. I just remembered the priest said to me today "I should search and find the eagle"

It meant nothing until I looked up the eagle symbolic meaning

"The eagle is the chief over all the winged creatures. ... If an individual has been going through a hard time, an eagle not only signals a new beginning, but provides that person with the stamina and resilience to endure the difficulties. If an eagle has appeared, it bestows freedom and courage to look ahead"

Hits the nail right on the head. That priest has definitely been reading my diary :rotfl::rotfl:

    :hello:

    Morning all

Up early today and housework and laundry done. DH has gone out with his brother to look at a couple of cars. A good friend of theirs has 2 for sale which are within our budget and are according to the brothers are a good deal. I would have no idea. I would look at the stereo and test the speakers and think I like it :rotfl: Men kick the tyres and um and ahh whilst looking in the engine.

Anyway whilst I am home alone for a few hours I have my trusty book, calculator and a pen. I have written down all our payments to bank of MIL, creditors, bills, savings pots etc for the next 6 months. I know exactly who is getting what on what dates and we will have cleared MIL by the middle of June :)

We must work from this to the penny and budget like we've never budgeted before.

We have no Council Tax to pay in February and March so a little extra there to play around with also.

Any extra funds we have from wages and eBay will be going into the F&F pot ready for nearer then end of the year. I have an idea which CC I plan to target with a F&F as they offered me a deal a while back but was waaay above what we had. But at least I know they are open to offers and I plan to play letter tennis with them until hopefully we agree on a sum. This is our smallest CC and if my plan comes off the boost it will give me will be like :j

If you're reading this father then thankyou :rotfl::rotfl: (sorry couldn't resist)
