    :hello:

    Morning all

Up early today and housework and laundry done. DH has gone out with his brother to look at a couple of cars. A good friend of theirs has 2 for sale which are within our budget and are according to the brothers are a good deal. I would have no idea. I would look at the stereo and test the speakers and think I like it :rotfl: Men kick the tyres and um and ahh whilst looking in the engine.

Anyway whilst I am home alone for a few hours I have my trusty book, calculator and a pen. I have written down all our payments to bank of MIL, creditors, bills, savings pots etc for the next 6 months. I know exactly who is getting what on what dates and we will have cleared MIL by the middle of June :)

We must work from this to the penny and budget like we've never budgeted before.

We have no Council Tax to pay in February and March so a little extra there to play around with also.

Any extra funds we have from wages and eBay will be going into the F&F pot ready for nearer then end of the year. I have an idea which CC I plan to target with a F&F as they offered me a deal a while back but was waaay above what we had. But at least I know they are open to offers and I plan to play letter tennis with them until hopefully we agree on a sum. This is our smallest CC and if my plan comes off the boost it will give me will be like :j

If you're reading this father then thankyou :rotfl::rotfl: (sorry couldn't resist)

You seem very positive and focused! Keep it up!

Let's hope this the year for us all to shift that debt.

    Evening diary world

I made £100 on eBay :j. So happy with that. I knew if I hung on I would get a decent price. I've left the payment in PayPal as my friend sold something recently and the buyer opened a case stating the item was faulty. It definitely wasn't and she ended up having to refund some money. The buyer was obviously Chancing their arm. Some people eh! Plus if I transfer it to my bank before I know where it's going I will waste it.

Still positive still planning and still plugging away. Had a letter from one of our creditors saying they are happy to support us and accept reduced payments for a few months. I explained the situation with the car saying without it DH cannot work. They were fine and it's such a relief to know that we can go ahead with our plan of paying MIL back ASAP.

DH managed to get a car within our (borrowed) budget and it seems ok. I only use it for shopping and visiting family so it makes no difference to me.

Freezing today and I changed my coat this morning, I found £6.90 in the pocket  Can't even remember the last time I wore it so I've no idea how long that's sat there. I put it straight into my sealed pot :D

Payday for me on Tuesday so another round of payments and budgets and topping up saving accounts etc. It's our last payment of Council Tax and then we get February and March off :T. That extra will also go somewhere positive too. Maybe put it towards bank of MIL and clear that one up early.

Runs off to make chocolate Ovaltine my new favourite tipple :p

Oh my goodness Motivated, your ups and downs over the last few weeks read like a page-turner of a novel! You know the sort of thing where the chapters end with cliff hangers and you're four pages into the next chapter before you even notice it?

That priest sounds such a lovely person. I really like his eagle reference. I hadn't come across that before. I wonder how he finds time to read diaries?! :rotfl:

I'm so glad you have a car again, and how amazing to find that £6.90 in the pocket! Have you gone through your other coats/jackets/bags just in case? :)

    Hi cherry

When I think of how many ups and downs we’ve had over the last couple of years  It’s 2 years since I began this journey and it’s flown by.

As for the priest it’s made such an impact on me I’m not even joking, my positivity is through the roof st the moment and long may it continue. His words are constantly in my head.

I did check my old coats after my amazing find but all I found were holes :rotfl:

Now I need the next chapters in my novel to have some more exciting things in them :p

I was just sat here thinking as well about when i have money I want to spend less unlike when we never had money we would spend more and think nothing of it. ie: credit cards etc. I would’ve thought nothing of going out thinking I need a new garden furniture set, oh we need a holiday, let’s buy a new settee and the list goes on. Yet now we have a few accounts with a bit of money saved (not a fortune by any means). I don’t want to go out on a splurge. I wonder how many people had or still have the same mindset as me :(

    Hi all
Another £15 made on eBay today. Need to wrap the parcel up but will leave that job until the morning. I'm shattered and it's Fridaaay :j

The buyer still needs to pay but I will get it wrapped and ready to go.
Hoping they pay tonight or early in the morning as I'm off to the post office to post the other sales in the morning anyway. Kill two birds with one stone.

I've made a couple of small overpayments and sorted my budget and grocery list. Organised and ready for a quiet weekend I hope.

Housework to do and beds to change but in the words of Scarlet o Hara "After all tomorrow is another day" ;)

Ah, now after that I recommend you check the linings! (Especially on old purses. They love small change).
May I suggest you either write out the priest's words and put them somewhere you'll see them often, or get a picture of an eagle? It will help keep the positives flowing. :)

    Hi cherry and all

Have checked all bags etc and still never found any extra cash lying around. Oh well never mind. I have added some more to my sealed tin so that makes me feel better

I've not updated for a couple of days. Got home late last night but this evening I was home at a decent time and now relaxing :)

Money wise I've been paid and all my wages have been budgeted, allocated or paid out lol

    Monthly bills paid
    Accounts topped up
First payment made to bank of MIL

So I can sleep soundly tonight knowing I'm all caught up and organised :D

Holiday fund has taken a back burner for now, our budget is not allowing the extra saving at the moment as I want to clear MIL asap and to be honest when I look around our house we need to paint and have a general spruce up. All very :money: of course. Have to do what we NEED and not what we want for a while.

It's mighty chilly out there tonight and playground duty today was

    :hello: Hi all

We had about 12 flakes of snow this morning and i got all excited. It soon stopped again lol.

I'm at work and grabbing a cheeky bit of time on here :o Well why not.

Had to relist one of my items on ebay as the buyer has not paid. 2 reminders sent and no response at all. Total time waster. Anyway we will see if it sells again this time.

My sealed tin doesn't sound so hollow now as I've been adding a few bits and pieces to it. I've been doing this for the last couple of years and it soon builds up. Will be opening it around October/November to see how much i've managed to save without realising. Its the little things like this challenge that keep me motivated and going in the right direction.

We have a visitor staying at the weekend and must not get tempted to spend unnecessary funds trying to impress. Although I think I have gotten out of this mindset now and will make sure we entertain all :money: Will take them to visit family and will be cooking a meal at home rather than eating out. They are elderly and not too fussed about going out anyway. Doesn't that make me sound like Scrooge.

My other creditor replied and are also happy to accept a reduced payment for a few months in order for us to pay back bank of MIL. A relief there to know they are still supporting us.

I really need to do some work. Oh another read of a couple of diaries wont hurt :rotfl:
