Sky Fail To Reach Agreement With Discovery

In thinking of phoning up to cancel as I'm out of contract , will follow the above line of discovery being removed .
I have the 30 days to change my mind but want to make a point.
Don't forget to mention the upcoming price increases too.
Discovery are pushing everybody at Sky at the moment to complain so it may be a little bit more tricky to actually get through.0 -
I'll phone from work , can sit there with it on speaker for as long as it takes
They will get " no I don't want a discount"
"I'm going to BT TV as they still have discovery channel "
"BT have offered me a very good deal to switch"Ex forum ambassador

Post 70 gives the way forward - I phoned Sky (0333 202 2139), after the normal automated parts the first bloke said he had to transfer me, waited 30 mins on hold then gave up and re-dialled and requested a call back. Told wait time is 2 hours - but at least I'm not wasting time holding a phone! As a BT infinity 2 fibre broadband customer (with BT Sport) I can get the channels we watch via BT TV and save myself £28/month by switching from Sky to BT - no brainer!0

I have been a happy Sky customer for many years.
I don't particularly know which channels I watch, as I select things by programme, not channel.
If I find it's no longer interesting me, then I'll drop out next time my renewal is up.
I don't pay for sports or movies and indeed I had a Now TV movies pass over the festive season and didn't watch a single movie.0 -
I have always liked Sky. I think their full cost represents fair value of the content supplied. About 80% of my viewing is in the Discovery network, so as of 31 days time I will no longer have Sky.
This is quite short sighted by Sky and Discovery IMO. I will be Freesat + Netflix from now on in. Much better cost - service ratio than Sky minus Discovery.0 -

They haven't dropped Discovery.
This thread is about Sky losing Discovery.
I know this thread is about Sky (which we have), but thought I'd read that Virgin had already discontinued Discovery. (Must have been in one of my odd recent dreams.)0 -
Discovery are asking sky for £1.39 per subscriber per month....
Sky have told them where to go,..
How much are sky paying now ?0 -
We've been with Sky for years and always had the Variety package, which includes Discovery etc. At present costs £32pm.
Just rung them earlier and have now downgraded to Original package which is £22.
Certainly not going to be paying the 32 quid anymore when around 13 channels will be lost. Sounds like it's a sure thing they will remove them in the next few days. We watch a fair few programs on Discovery & Turbo, but won't loose sleep over not having the channels.
I've now saved myself a tenner a month.
It's all about who rakes in the most ££££££'s these days, they clearly don't think of customers when they are fighting like kids in a playground."The truth is of course is that there is no journey.
We are arriving and departing all at the same time."0
