Oh, wait. I can't order one yet. Because the UK isn't on the list of countries.
Can't be "because RHD", since Japan is on the list.0 -
So if I walk in and order one tomorrow, when will it be delivered?

You can reserve them in the UK, with international deliveries starting in 2019. Once you've reserved one, you can track your estimated delivery date from your account page.
Very first link when you google "tesla model 3 delivery uk"
Sure it's not very specific until you put down a deposit, but I don't think that's a problem for anyone wanting one. Lead time on a Hyundai Kona electric is something like 42 weeks.0 -

Absolutely not my intention. Selective editing for selective readers.0 -

Bit of pointless negativity I think? What about the almost infinite number of EV's not yet being made or not even yet a twinkle in the designer's eyes, can you buy one of them today?
Good thing you are so pro-EV, I'd hate to have to read your comments if you were anti.Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

Lovely, but Martyn's link was talking about them being in showrooms as of today in ten countries outside the US - 8 European countries (N/F/S/D/B/P/CH/A/NL), plus China and Japan.
But you said you couldn't order one yet.Oh, wait. I can't order one yet.
Have you tried?Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

Sorry, I assumed if you were talking about you walking into a showroom and buying one, and that we're all in the UK, and that you mentioned the UK and RHD, you'd be doing it in the UK. If you wanted to get a foreign one you could buy a US one now (used) and have it shipped over, or join the US waiting list.
(list of Tesla UK showrooms here)
I can walk into a Tesla showroom in the UK today and slap down a deposit on a model 3. I might even go in and ask if they'll give a ballpark delivery date before committing.
(I'm not in a position to put down a £1000 deposit on a car I won't see for months, but I'll be paying close attention to them on the used market because it'd be perfect for me).0 -

And, yes, you can reserve one for UK delivery, in just the same way as you've been able to for ages - no change there...
So - perhaps the biggest question arising from that article... Why NOT the UK? It clearly isn't a RHD issue, because Japan's in there. So if they've got UK-spec cars and RHD cars, why not stick the two together? Is the UK not a market they consider important?0 -
No, just a simple statement that you cannot walk into a UK Tesla showroom and lick a Model 3.
But you never said that at all. And, yes, you can reserve one for UK delivery, in just the same way as you've been able to for ages - no change there...
So you can order one after all? Glad that's cleared up then.So - perhaps the biggest question arising from that article... Why NOT the UK? It clearly isn't a RHD issue, because Japan's in there. They are probably sending Japan a US spec car to look at, since the European display ones (German at least) are US spec. It sounds like they are only starting to build RHD versions in 2019.
That said, I've no idea why they aren't mentioning sending any TM3s to the UK for punters to taste. But that's not what you asked. Are there any over here already?0
