    As already mentioned, Lidl.
    Some, but not all.

My nearest Lidl is part of a city centre retail park (between the station and hospital) with no charging provision at all. The nearest charger is a single 3kW charger in a council P'n'D car park half a mile walk away, or there's a single 7kW in a different council car park a similar distance away.

    Yea similar here.

My town only has one 7kWh post that's from Polar, and I find the charges to prohibitive.

Thankfully they are building a new multi-storey car-park (much to the annoyance of the green-belt Nimbys...) and been informed they will be providing an extra 6 chargers. No details yet on the type or provider, but hoping for rapid.

There is a free POD 7kWh charger at a Tesco I sometimes use on route to my folks. Also a 50kWh Rapid at a nice Hotel also on route that only has a £1 connection charge.

10.5 miles of free usage just for being parked at a supermarket for half an hour isn't bad though, eh?
That's half of an average cars daily usage.
    .

Adrian hasn't been very generous with his miles per kwh though. It could be 5 for an Ioniq in warmer conditions. 4 miles would be a better average overall. But your point stands though, and like my point earlier, it's all about diversity and spreading the load.

It's more likely the larger supermarkets will be the ones to introduce them (leaving Lidl aside) and it will be another incentive to visit the cafe for quarter of an hour.

This survey surprised me showing little demand (11%) for small (compact) EV's. I'd have thought demand would be high, so long as the price is low.

But the prices aren't low at the moment and the selection of vehicles does tend to be more aimed at the company car driver.

I've never been a company car driver or bought a new car so there's not much out there for me at the moment. A S/H Zoe or Leaf maybe, but as it'd be the only household vehicle I'd like a little more range than the earlier models and a reduction in prices.

The other day I saw a Leaf with a parking ticket on it for being in an EV charging space but not plugged in. Yeay!

Sadly, I see so many EVs/PHEVs left dumped on rapids/7kw posts either not plugged in or finished charging hours ago. Mostly PHEVs so great to see tickets getting issued now :)

Tesla automatically debit your account waiting time fees a certain time after charging has been completed at their supercharging stations.

I was just trying to clarify for everyone, not just you, that EVs and PHEVS don't just park in these spaces - they're for charging only. No-one should be surprised to see EVs or PHEVs in normal spaces. I know you know this. I'm not sure buglawton does.

That's fine, but as I said please don't misrepresent what I post by selective editing to make it look like I've suggested something that I clearly didn't.

I don't want to have another month pointing out that you are lying about what I've said, with the only way of ending it being my having to ignore one of your 100% blatant lies to get you to go away like last time:
Yes, I think the above was my point all along. But, Martyn's (and zeupdater) been pointing out that the other quarters losses were expected, in 2 quarters, profit was predicted, and happened, and this, Q3, is one that profit has been predicted, which is why Martyn didn't like me referring to Q2, as the situation has changed since that.

All of my comments and references (and those by others explaining the issue to you) were about Q3 not Q2. This could not have been made clearer and by this point in time you had conceded and retracted all such lies .... then popped this one in presumably just because you can't stop yourself lying.

Please don't start such silliness again.

Busy supermarket carparks are already dire, vast swathes of child spaces [always abused], mostly empty disabled spaces and now EV charging likely to be 32A posts. Oh and if you stay longer than 3 hours it's an automatic fine...

There are far more desrving/useful places for chargers.

    Cheers

But we are told that EV sales are very low and that people without drives can't buy them, so why are they needed today when tomorrow is fine. Aren't you just creating a fake argument to support the "it won't work" arguments when reality/time will make such comments look silly in the short to medium term?

Why does it have to be a choice, why not have chargers in lots of locations rather than just some that you think are more suitable.

Not sure many fancy a Twizzy :)

Sadly the real world choice of EVs is dire so unlikely to attract the masses yet. You can get decent brand new ICE cars that are cheaper than EVs including fuel.

    Cheers

Perhaps that's the answer, they are answering based on EV's that exist. I was assuming the question was about the prospect of EV sizes, but you may be right.

Now that BEV's have lower TCO than ICE's, then a suitable small BEV could literally wipe out all ICE sales for second cars.

Yep, and saw an interesting article about their destination chargers (70kW) some time back, which text you when charging is nearly done, then start charging you a parking fee but only if 50%+ of the chargers are occupied.

These get deployed in carparks etc and I assume (may be wrong) that the owners pay to have them installed as a way of attracting Tesla owning shoppers.

    So many solutions.

    LOL, what's the question...

    Cheers

Exactly. Why chase our tails with these silly arguments whose only point seems to be to create or maintain a fake negative.

As with all technology rollouts we know that there are multiple solutions and that these will (are already) being rolled out. Filling forums with negatives that are already out of date simply shows that devoting time and creativity to making up problems will always be wasteful v's reality that is/has already spotted, addressed and begun to solve these 'new', 'unknown', and 'unforseen' problems.
