Evening all
Late post today, as I wasn't feeling very well last night and didn't sleep well (thought I was going down with something) but bizarrely felt ok today  Then looked after GD from 8.00 am till 5.30. Unimpressive list coming up!
Didn't spend anything, entertained GD for free
Not a proper NSD though as I had to write a cheque for the window cleaner, whom we missed the other day
Used a free stamp from RM surveys to post it though!
Made fairy cakes with GD for treats
Then repotted the bathroom orchid plant with her - you can imagine the state of my kitchen after those two jobs :rotfl:
After that, apart from posting letters and walking the dog, what she most wanted to do today was watch Paw Patrol on my phone :rotfl: Most unlike her, as she generally wants to get everything out and for me to play with her all the time!
HM meals from stores
Sold 3 ebay items, must wrap and post tomorrow
Maria, hope you are better soon
And Yorkshire Lass, hope you have a better day tomorrow0 -

Haven't actually seen that much of him as yet, as he has met a new lady. Got his large and unsettled dog to deal with tomorrow and overnight though :eek:0 -
Eek, good luck with the dog Dawn!
Impressive money saving today folks :j Very impressed with those of you who rang the bank and zoo :j In the past I've been to shy to do such things but clearly it pays off :j First time I did anything like it was this year when I acidentally bought an empty box  and ended up with the thing that was meant to be in it, an extra bit to go with it AND a £20 gift voucher:money:
Don't know how I've managd to not pop in all day  Well, I do :rotfl: been busyanyway, things I've done:
* porridge made with water for breakfast
* took defrosted soup and home made bread for lunch, and home made brownies for snacks - only got enough for tomorrow so need to made enough tea tomorrow for leftovers on Friday - and then be more generous with batch cooking at the weekend!
* I did end up spending £2.40 on 2 cups of tea at a work meeting this afternoon  but it was a useful meeting, and the person I met bought me a chocolate brownie :j
* cycled to work - made it much quicker to get to meeting and saved me £1 on the bus home :money: getting fitter too - only took 32 mins to get home - it was 40 last week! Not impressive as it's only 2.5 miles... :rotfl: but it is all uphill!:rotfl:
* Mr Cheery made pasta bake from meal plan for tea. Normally I do pasta bake and it's lentil/tomato based but he did a kind of cheese-aramaextravaganza :j was most tasty
* ooh, nearly forgot - it's payday :j done banks and shuffling and I *think* if we stick to the uber frugal January plan we'll be able to save even more than I'd hoped this month :j
Hearing you all talk about marmalade is making me want to make some too... did it a few years ago in the slow cooker but not got access to mine at the minute. Might investigate greengrocer oranges at the weekend
Right, must go to sleep, night all (and a special hug for yorkshirelas))))))
Oh, and ally i'm so pleased you went for that promotion! :j :j when do you find out??
Right - sleep!0 -
Morning guys
must spring into action in a minute. Think I'm going to tie my hair back today rather than washing it which will probably mean I will regret this by mid afternoon....
* home grown squash soup and hm soda bread and cream cheese for my lunch, madam's box is done and oh will have the pizza I made last night
* have run out of fresh coffee and will debate whether I can *survive* with instant for a day or two... If I can it should be a NSD
* will park up at a Tesco for free parking when I meet up with a client today so hopefully will womble some receipts
* print a couple of moc from the newsletter/ally's link
* will dice and freeze managos currently sitting in the fruit bowl as they haven't been eaten
* update expenses - easier to do it as I go through the month. Works out my expenses *almost* cover my petrol each month
* onepoll & go for a walk in my lunch break
that's all I can think of. Happy Thursday guysDF as at 30/12/16

If you don't like calling to complain you could use Martin Lewis' online Resolver complint tool instead. (Link) I've used it a few times and it's worked for me 75% of the time.
The closing date for applications is tomorrow so I should hear by Monday if I'm going to be interviewed.

Morning all,
Busy day planned. I need to fit in some local politicsl stuff too, but will not be taking my eye off the money saving. Today I will:
*Make 2nd batch of marmalade. I love seville orange season. Then label it all & work out cost per jar.
*Ironing. As little as I can get away with.
*Finish penultimate sock of my current order & cast on final one.
*Do next week's meal plans. Mr f has requested 'a big cottage pie that will ladt us 2 days' so that's 2 out of 7 days sorted!
*Start writing shopping list.
*Two baths from one lot of hot water.
*Freezer dive for tonight's dinner has produced courgette curry & lentil dhal which I will serve with rice & salad.
I'm caffiened up now, so will get started. Have a good audiobook to keep me entertained while I sort out the msrmalade......a Scandi-crime author I didn't know......very intriguing......I like trying to puzzle out who the killer is & why.
Wishing everyone a productive day. Keep your pennies in your purse & stick it to the system. Power to the money savers!

Ooh, thank you! I'd not heard of that but looks very useful! :j Fingers crossed for your application, do let us know the outcome
Morning all :hello: On the list for me today
* homemade soup and bread for lunch
* home made brownies for snacks
* cycling to work and back (doesn't save me any money, but it's free exercise and is contributing to me not renewing gym membership)
* incidentally - must check gym membership won't auto renew - I think it runs out on 21st and I've had NO communication from them - not listed as a DD on bank account though.
* bring home pension info from work - tedious but I want to check where I'm up to, and whether it's worth upping contributions now before we do mortgage finances etc so we won't miss it.
* banks/ynab later
* washing on later, will dry on radiators
* finish plastering round spare room window
* paint shelve supports and stick everything back on them - want to be able to see living room floor again!
* tea from meal plan - including enough leftovers for tomorrow's lunch
* consider making snacks for the weekend tonight
Er, that's it I think :j Have a good day all :j0 -
Hi January Jubilants,
We're off to the spa hotel today
Debt Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Two:
* Booked last minute online so we're getting the hotel for half price.
* The hotel we're using is just 40 mins away, resisted the temptation to go to a different one two hours away.
* Probably won't eat in the overpriced hotel restaurant, will go to the carvery in the nearby town instead. Hve found a BOGOF dessert voucher for said carvery online.
* Taking snacks with us for the evening bought using Nectar points.
*Will use the hotel pool, jacuzzi and sauna which is included in the room price. Won't get any paid for "treatments"; not much point as DW is a therapist.

Good Morning All
Today will be an extremely quiet day as yesterday became the day from hell (went to Dr's about a lump only to fall on my way so ended up being sent to hospital to get my foot x-rayed, a referral to cancer clinic and a further appointment to investigate my "falls". Recent falls have been completely out of the blue and scarily close to busy roads, didn't slip or trip, didn't go dizzy just fell forward, yesterdays really shook me up with cars so close to my feet as I sat on the kerb trying to get myself together and stand up, hope I remembered to thank the young woman who helped me up, bet the 30+ people at the bus stop thought I'd just staggered out of the pub :rotfl: ) so my feeble list:
Packed lunch for DH & DS - Done
Check Bank - Done
Continue purge on emails -
Surveys -
Enter a few comps -
All meals from cupboards/fridge/freezer -
Check: Lucky Phone, Ashleigh, Numberplatelotto, FPL -

Have a great day all!
