Mumof2 - would you like that job better than your current one? If you apply you can always turn it down, but you can't apply late...

I work from home so would be complete change. I don't think I'll go for it but just feeling v frustrated re the whole thing  Thank you.

Thank you so much everyone for your advice and input. I think yes, he is probably a bit depressed and feeling his age (58) as very tricky age at which to be looking for new job. I had yet another talk and he's told me he's not telling me stuff and what he's been doing as doesn't want to build my hopes up - I said I want to know as that's much more preferable to thinking he's doing nothing. I'm not going to go for that job as would be out of the house from 7-7 and that's just too long plus, to be honest, don't think my RSI would stand it. If he doesn't get the job he's going to start applying for general non-specialist jobs in the area ..... the more you go for the more chance you stand of getting something. I've had 2 jobs in today with a third to follow and the promise of more so maybe we'll get there.

I think I will suggest he maybe goes to see our GP and has a chat as she's eminently sensible. Bossymoo the hoarding hasn't improved. I know there's unresolved carp going on in his head but he says it's never been his or his family's way to talk about stuff .... so he won't (even to me). Very frustrating as I gush forth verbally and everyone knows everything! He had an email from the company who interviewed him just saying they've not forgotten, just taking a while but didn't tell me any of that and the message came in 3 days ago.

You guys are great to talk to and it does help me so thank you all xx

Flying wise, done washing, walked and about to hang washing up before getting on with this other job that's in.

ETA: Dizzy, I think it's just pride but he says it's because it will distract him from getting the right sort of job. This morning I told him forget pride, get money.

    Happy lunch time ladies :)

Just about keeping up with the thread and definitely want to add my support to you Mumof2. Struggling with one wage is difficult at the best of times, but dealing with a partner who won't/can't understand your worries must be so frustrating. Does your DH have any reason, other than perhaps pride, for not signing on?

Narc0 - taking some time before/after the funeral is not disrespectful IMHO and you could do with some down time with all the MiL stress of recent weeks. Hope you find somewhere lovely to stay.

I haven't got any suggestions about your workshop loudmouth. I'm not the best person to give advice on that type of query, seeing as I burned a perfect circular scorch mark into the top of our expensive beech worksurfaces a few years ago. This time, we've plumped for granite, hoping it might be a little more resilient.

Basics done today and just on the sofa with a cup of tea, there chocolate biscuits and an extravagant quest for the list snooze...,

I have so much carp of my own that I post here about, I agree, the support here is fab.
And you know what? It actually does me good to think that I might ease the burden for one of my friends here.

Mr LW has been really good today; he's hung a towels'n'hankies wash out on the whirligig (we have sunshine!!), washed up the brekkie stuff, scrubbed the loo, and is now tidying up some fallen leaves in the back garden. :A

I don't know if you remember I said I was going to sign up for a course on canine first aid - well, I signed up last night, so going to go and look at the first module in a few minutes. Wish me luck.....

Phone call made. I feel much better getting something off my chest so to speak.
All flying done, including vacuuming the whole house. I just have the budgie cage to clean, then I am done today till teatime. I need a cup of very strong tea.
Jobs I need done that are totally stressing me out, outside windows and the oven needs cleaning but I need to get someone in to do that. The carpets need a good deep clean but I am going to wait until the weather isent quite as dirty! Family always take shoes off when they come in but I can't ask the Tesco man to remove his boots can I?!!
Lame Wolf, well done on signing up for your course. I am thinking of taking a spainish course, you may have just given me that much needed kick up the backside to stop thinking about it and get on with it!

    Well done loudmouth xx

Hugs again for both mumof2 and LW xx

Almost forgot piggy vet appointment  anyway I'm apparently cutting their claws just fine, boy piggy's lump is a cyst - eurgh he squeezed it _pale_ and cleaned it. Piggy never flinched. So I guess it's not bothering him. Just got to clean it now and again. Other than that they are fine, although I told him boy pig has lost 200g since being with us but he's eating plenty - he said he's a chunk and could lose another 100g:rotfl: more exercise Bertie!!!

Right - better run to school!

Loudmouth well done on getting stressy phone call done.
Fwiw, I most assuredly would ask the T£sco man to remove his boots if he was likely to traipse mud onto my clean floor!

Mr LW is currently ironing hankies.

HM pizza in oven - he has 5 minutes to get the hankies finished before dins is ready. :D

Done half of first module of the course - there's a LOT to take in, but it looks to be very interesting. And of course it's relevant.

((Hugs)) Mumof2, and agree with all that has been said and the good advice offered.
Narc0 - forget feeling guilty. You work so hard and are doing so much right now for your MiL that you certainly deserve the weekend away.
LW - well done on signing up for the course. Good luck!
Yuk!! Bossy about piggy's cyst. Glad I wasn't eating when I read that!

Had a full on morning at job 2 today. As I'm only there once a week for a few hours I find it hard to hit the ground running which then means I get frustrated and spend all day there. Still I was determined to get away soon after lunch so that I could.....wait for it!.....clean the bathroom! How's that for flying dedication?! Put 2 loads through the WM, bunged dinner into the slow cooker, juggled some money around and played fridge / freezer tetrus. That meant that I have also made some broccoli and stilton soup for lunch tomorrow AND got rid of the smelly stilton from the fridge. A couple of long lost meals from the freezer added to next week's meal plan.

Right off to get some veg to go with the casserole.

Thanks for all your encouragement; there seem to be a lot of us in need at the moment!
Today went well at first as I got some report written but has gone downhill since then. Got to uni and had left important paperwork next to my computer (the one I was filling in and preparing at 1am) so I had to rush around cobbling stuff together from bits I had 'spare' at uni and bits my manager had. I only had enough to do part of the assessment, the student was really sweet and said these things happen but I felt so unprofessional and embarrassed; I've never forgotten that paperwork before.
Then I got a text to say that the delivery time for MIL's new cooker, to her flat, is between 7 and 10am tomorrow morning. Ugh. We need to allow at least 20 mins to get there, to be safe.
I'd signed up for a webinar training course starting at 7pm, 1st of 3 and I really don't feel like it but better do it so off I go.

Well done LW sounds a good course.
At least the washing is dry!

Evening! Just realised I haven't posted this week! I have been reading but not much else. Got cough and sniffles courtesy of the little darlings in my class but, thankfully, am not feeling too bad now.

Lots of flyladies needing hugs, spoons and positive thoughts so please help yourself xx

Mumof2If it doesn't sound disrespectful, we are almost inclined to make a weekend of going to the funeral in Portsmouth in 2 weeks just to take a break after the removals. Maybe just find a cheap hotel and chill out.

My city :D Let me know if I can help at all x Condolences to you and DH x
