Thank you everyone for your support. I tried talking to him again and said I could earn extra by going full time (there's a nice job I'd like but closing date is today), working at L*dl part time or even our local ManS want someone on weekends. He said No, No, No. So I told him I'm really frustrated as he appears to be not actively doing anything and seems to me I'm the only one worried about money. He walked off
Flying wise I've taken the bins out and cleaned out the inside of our kitchen bin plus the little kitchen caddy thing we put food waste in. Wasn't nice. Now going to get a load of washing in before school run and then going to take Whiz out for a walk and see if I can't declutter some stress. I need to vacuum when I get back in. Trying to be positive but BD (and worse) is now howling right down my ears so put big girl pants on after shower and will stoicly ignore it.
Biscuit monster enjoy your bike ride! Don't think about the dentist and instead look forward to hair cut.
Mrs-MP wish I could be so organised re meal planning. I end up staring into a rather empty fridge waiting for inspiration to hit and end up with beans on toast.Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -

Rosemary how about the long nozzle from the hoover? Or standing on a chair?
Sorry, I should've said - that was when I was up the ladder as high as is safe... I have a lovely old flat, built in 1884. The ceilings are very pretty, but 12/13ft high  and that particular light fitting doesn't hang down. I'll give the hoover a trySorry, don't know much about cleaning hoover filters! I think I just squidged mine around in a bucket of soapy water last time.

Mumof2 it's purely by necessity that I'm making myself be more organised. The afterschool club I work at twice a week finishes late so I'm home after or about the same time as Dh so I need to gave something ready I can just put in the oven, likewise one day I work all day so if I make something with leftovers the night before Dh can just reheat that for his lunch when he gets in. Because we are also trying to run the freezer contents down this week I've got lots in to use up.
I meal plan after I've done my shopping as coop has so many etc fruit and veg at the weekend we shop there then I decide what I have to work with.
Last night for example we had cauliflower and broccoli cheese because I had rtc cauliflower & broc to use and I made a double amount of chee sauce so I could use half each for that and the lasagne. In the time it would take me to make one meal I'd got 3 sorted.SPC~12 ot 124

Rosemary you need a long reach duster...
Mumof2 (hugs) as has been said he should sign on to get theNI, could he be depressed? It must be hard.
I was full of cold last night but made myself a curry with a Chinese curry sauce mix because I find that helps and am better than I was!
Meeting after work so I'll be late home.
Much amused by cousins pictures of her snow-covered garden...in Southern Spain!
DW and WM have been on, recycling out for collection *fling*

Good morning, given myself a big talking too this morning. I am going to take the bull by the horns and sort out what's worrying me today. So just waiting for Tesco delivery, put it away and a very frank nod honest phone call.
DH has taken the vacuum cleaner upstairs for me so I will get to grips and what's bugging me up there. I intend to be done by half twelve and am giving myself a day off tomorrow once the daily jobs have been done.
Take care everyone xx0 -
Morning All
Sorry I've been a bit AWOL this week, not entirely sure where the time has gone!
Loudmouth - well done you. Make that phone call and let us know when it's done, we are all here rooting for you x
Mumof2 - sorry if I am speaking out of turn but your hubby's attitude is not acceptable. We all have different ways of coping with stressful situations, but he could actively be helping to ease your stresses by signing on, yet he chooses not to. If it were me, I would give him until the middle of next week to get it sorted, otherwise he would be asked to take a long walk off a short plank! But that's me, we are all different as I say, it just saddens and maddens me to hear you working so hard, supporting him and your kids, with no-one supporting you. xxx
Well I need to do some paid stuff today, and run the vacuum round. Flying may be limited, but I'll do what I can.
Have lovely days all xMFW

Mumof2 (hugs) as has been said he should sign on to get theNI, could he be depressed? It must be hard.
Mumof2 more hugs here and yes, if for no other reason it would surely be reasonable for him to understand that keeping going with his NI is vital for all of you. He's paid tax while he was working so it's not like begging in the streets. I'm not going to say "if he's at home all day he should be worrying about organising the dinner, not you" because I gather he's not that way inclined, but I just said it so more hugs.
Poor Mr N postponed the gym and shifted 2 meetings yesterday to accommodate the carpet fitters but they never rang, came and the shop phone was engaged until late. Lady who answered was very apologetic he'd been missed off list. Will try for today apparently. A right pain as we were set to take more stuff round to the flat last night if carpets there.
TBH I was so shattered by the time I got back from uni I did very little, then couldn't sleep for feeling guilty about not doing more work so did some at 1am!!
Done a bit of declutter of floors and put WM on this morning. Uni at 1pm so report writing now unless I get summoned by the carpet fitters.
When Mr N was up early early the other am checking for the freezer delivery time, he got an email to say his great uncle had died. Sad but he was 95. If it doesn't sound disrespectful, we are almost inclined to make a weekend of going to the funeral in Portsmouth in 2 weeks just to take a break after the removals. Maybe just find a cheap hotel and chill out.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Tesco shop arrived 40 minutes late. He has left dirty boot marks on hall and kitchen floor. Two days on the run I have had to mop up after other people's husbands.
Having quick cuppa, then getting on. I am downing tools at half twelve, I need a couple of hours on my own to take stock and may do a bit of decoupage.
Mum of two, hope you manage to get him to see sense. Xx big hugs to you xx
NarcOlepsy, sorry to hear about Mr N's great uncle. And no it doesn't sound disrespectful to take a couple of days off and have a break when you attend his funeral. Xxx0 -
(((Hugs))) Valli.
It doesn't sound disrespectful at all, Narco. I think after all you've both done for MiL and the frantic time you've had regarding work lately means it's essential that you do take the weekend as a pleasurable one. What a lovely way to think about and remember the gentleman in the future.
You don't need to apologise for decluttering worries here, Mumof2.FacelessNumber wrote: »Can anyone give me any advice on the best way to clean a Dyson filter? I'm sure someone once told me to put it in the washing machine but I'm not sure!
There's a link here for filter washing but you've probably got a different model. If you search the D*son site you'll find your own. I've seen a note somewhere in my searchEs that you shouldn't use detergent or put them in the WM or DW. Just get the thing out and run coolish water through them until the water runs clear, basically. Let them dry for at least 24 hours before you put them back.
House tidyish, dailies done. Things are looking up here.Better is good enough.0 -
Hugs mumof2 feels like his attitude is part of a much bigger picture that he's still not getting help for? Are your agreements around his hoarding working out? Would he go see his GP? Would you? It might help you if you had someone to talk to about how it is to live with xxx
Well I'm just sitting down to me first :coffee: of the day  I've usually had at least 2 by now! :rotfl:
There was a writing workshop for DS class at 9 so I stayed at school with him. Was useful actually and I got to see the standard some of the other kiddies were producing which always helps reassure. Then I decided to walk to town for some greens - neglected piggies- via the post office collection place.
Finally home, was a nice walk, bit of thinking time.
I'm going to chuck the piggies out "to graze" soon and clean the cage, then I think I'll get on with bathrooms.
Also have a number of lists to get on with - DS birthday next week, and what I need to prepare, including catering shopping, plus we booked a holiday (yaay!) so I need to plan that, plan my college work around it all including a research mini project, and sort out piggy care while we are away (aka granny :A)Bossymoo
