Just had dinner, roasted veg (beetroot, carrots, sweet potato and red onion) with nearly the end of the topside. Think two more meals left. As we seem to be counting that puts my f&v up to seven for the day. In the absence of any milk in the place I've made a couple of bottles of green bloop in place of milkshake. 160g of mixed spinach, kiwi and mango blitzed with 300ml of apple juice. That's got to be another portion when I get round to drinking one and another for tomorrow.
Was thinking about walking to the coop in the next village to see if they have any bargains but the wind is right up again and that means 2 miles walking straight into the wind either there or back and not sure I fancy that so we'll see. Not been out my front door yet today.0 -
Although my belly was full earlier and I couldn't move ... I had to give up spuds to fit the veggies in - and so I've become hungry and had to eat ANOTHER meal!
Just had 2 bits of toast, half a tin of beans and a squirt of HP. Ah well, that's another 1/10 tossed into the mix.
I think I need to work not on number of veggies, but to increase the number of filling veggies
It's all a learning curve isn't it ... just before we forget/drop it anyway as it doesn't suit us ....0 -

Your duty was to put up with him and not swan off with a toy boy - you've done that OK. So all duties performed... and you get to sit and relax while he performs his part of the commitment made
LOL spot on PN. I actually did that bit, I did the love and honor bit too failed on the Obey, no chance of that. I defo failed on the till Death do us Part, I didn't fancy going to jail so got a divorce instead.Slimming World at target0 -

And when I wrote our ceremony, I didn't have "Til Death us do part", I made it "For as long as Love shall last";)
We've made, between us, a nice vegetarian toad-in-the-hole, (it's in the oven as I type) and I'm hoping I'll actually be able to eat some.
Also constructed an apple and blackberry crumble which I'll shove in the oven in a bit (cooks at a lower temperature than the toad). So that's a few desserts sorted out.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

I posted this on the 10 a day board and got a cheeky message from a friend asking me if I`had won the lottery or was I spending my kids inheritance LOL, and did where did I find the trough to put my dinner in.
Actually though it does sound a lot, it dosent look it and costing it all out it comes in under £2 for the day, less than a bag of chips round here.

Evening everyone
Farway - hope you enjoy your M&S dinner sounds lush though I think you are chancing your arm counting the butter LOL:)
LW - hope the dizziness passes so horrible to deal with. Sounds asthough a bit of team work between you and Mr LW have things more than sorted;)
PN - I find root veg mash filling more so than the components IFYSWIM. Aunt Bessies do a frozen one as I'm sure do others if you CBA making your own.:)
Meg72 - that's a scrumptious looking plate of food hope you enjoyed:)
Willowx - wise decision to stay indoors. I love roasted beetroot but seldom buy the raw stuff as Tesco only sell it in small expensive bunches. I like it roasted with an orange, thyme and black pepper:)
I'm having chicken thighs roasted with a wee bit of chorizio, courgette, onions, mushrooms and peppers, probably some more baby tomatoes just to wet it a bit and lots of garlic and oregano. Might do a wee tattie in their as well. Should be tasty I hope0 -
.... where did I find the trough to put my dinner in....
Upon reading it a 2nd time it didn't look too bad ... there is one person on the boards who I have to always hold my tongue with ... my god that person can tuck it away .... and then indicates there's a diet going on! OMG.
One thing that amuses me is that we're used to professionally shot dinner photos these days... and so when we shoot photos of our own food (in a rush as we really want to eat it), it can look quite "dire". I've seen some very dire looking dinners on this site, but then I realise that not everybody's got the right lighting/plate/background sitting around with a photostylist to work on it all before we eat.
Now your dinner photo's loaded .... that's a biggun missus!0 -
What I can't come up with is how to make proper homemade soup in smaller quantities so it just makes one or two portions any suggestions?
I've found a method that works for me.
I have a stainless steel mixing bowl that has a similar capacity to the casserole dish I use for soups. As I peel and chop the veggies I place them in the bowl which then gives me a good idea of how much I'm prepping. That stops me from peeling and chopping too much.
I have an invisible line which I don't go above to take account of adding barley and dumplings.:hello:0 -

I think it looks lovely - different people eat different volumes and the plate is more than half low calorie density veg with a great mix of colours and vitamins.
Whenever I actually sit down and eat meals like this regularly (not just on Sunday) I always lose weight - because it's much more balanced than the usual mix of just carbs and protein with little to no veg that I eat if I'm not making a 'proper' meal.
Don't suppose you do home delivery?
*sigh*That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.
