Don't know why people are complaining about E.ON. My fix with them ends in March and looks like a 20% increase wherever I go. That's how fixes, especially collective fixes, work. Hoping the moneyuk collective comes up with something on 14th Feb.

You obviously post without reading others' comments regarding EON's uncompetitive tarifs!

Why wait: Google - The Big Deal - comes out next week.

'We aren't just negotiating with any old supplier, you know. We know you want quality service too. And we're on it.

Right now, we are on the cusp of negotiating something very special. This is going to be a great deal. But with your support, it can be even better. We'll get you the deal next week.'

From reading this forum I thought Eon were expensive and their new tariffs were expensive. However, I have put the last 12 months annual usage into a comparison website and the costs of dual fuel deals or doing them separately are fairly comparable to what Eon have offered me. Am I missing something?

Possibly - possibly not. It depends on your usage, the electricity and gas mix and your postcode.

I switched to Iresa in early December. Looking a CEC, E.oN rates at the no 42 best deal at an additional cost of £194 ( my present deal is £665) per year.

I must admit I'm not particularly savvy when it comes to this sort of thing. Only needed to bother about it for past year since inheriting house from my mum! Have costs gone up across the board?

It's the same for me too. I realise we're clearly a minority, but depending on your usage, and your area, E.On might well be near-enough cheapest!

I think many of the complaints are from E-On customers who are coming to the end of a yearly collective deal which in many cases produced low rates.

Then if they want to remain with E-On are finding themselves faced with a hefty hike in prices.

For instance my annual bill for the last year with E-On MSE collective was £760 if I stayed with them on their cheapest tarrif it would now be £1038.

Using comparison sites I can save £177 by switching to Iresa and other suppliers beat the E-On price too , being from £95, to £45, less than E-On.

E.ON Saver Fixed 1 Year v5 is the tarriff Eon are suggesting for me - @ £70 a month. Yes there are exit fees but ignoring that, even the cheapest on a price comparison website was about £68. Thats for a 3 bed terraced, elec and gas (we have solar panels which I think brings the elec lower) I'm thinking of just staying where I am and hope I'm not missing anything lol

If you take up the offer of v5 and do decide to switch later because a better tariff comes along elsewhere, switch to e.on v21 first: there is no charge for switching within e.on and no exit fees on v21 (a great tip from a forum member a couple of days ago).:)
