Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP, it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and has been known to get the charge cancelled.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.

It is a scam.
You need to complain to the BP Garage (there are loads of newer posts about it, and this thread is ANCIENT.

Hahaha, of course it is a SCAM!

I didn't mean it was a fake PCN or not a real situation with real letters & emails from a real company.  We know you are getting letters & emails but that doesn't make it legitimate or a real 'fine' that you have to pay!

I mean the entire operation at that BP garage is an utter scam and you should be complaining to BP and to your MP.

Search the forum for VCS Airport BP Garage and read any other threads from 2020 so far, exactly like yours...

So getting an email means it's not a scam?  You'll be an ideal contact then for a Nigerian Prince wanting to deposit his trillions of dollars into your bank account. You could soon be very rich poor!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Of course it is a scam, is the Pope not a Catholic?   Nine out of ten of these tickets are, which is why nine out of ten court claims which we help defend are lost.

Of course the appeal was refused, it's a scam.  There is no appeal; this industry lies about it, effectively.

No, you don't pay it.  You complain to the landowners to cancel it.

Why on earth pull over into a car park?  You should have just pulled over on street.  No PCN from the Council for this and if you did, they'd cancel it because Councils do.

Don't drive into private car parks.

You need to start your OWN thread, not reply here (please).
