I am confused by all this process of refusing to pay parking tickets. I just received one on private land outside a retail store for parking just over the lines !!!!!!. Can't see company registered with a trade body. Want £60 from me - seriously? Should I pay it? I am not registered keeper of car, my husband is?

Definitely don't pay it. If they are not a member of an ATA they can't get the keeper details. Read the NEWBIES sticky thread and wait for the NTK unless they really are an ATA member, in which case appeal as per the NEWBIES explains.
Only a mug would pay these scammers.

You should amend your post to remove information about who did what. We only need to know about The Driver and The Keeper, who are two separate people as far as we are concerned.

Myparkingcharge.co.uk are an offshoot company of Excel.
So it will be interesting if you get a NTK (notice to keeper) which means they got keeper details from the DVLA
Maybe Excel will do that for them

Just sit tight and see if you get a letter, if you do, come back here
  • Hi all!

I have been searching through these boards but the only one mention of this "myparkingcharge,co.uk" is above.

Is this a new scam company wishing to con anyone they can?

The reason i ask is that one of our clients had the dreaded little yellow wallet stuck to the windscreen. But inside there was no ticket, no fine amount, none of the usual or prescribed thing that a parking company should provide according to the regs (briefly perused)

The only thing in there was a card stating that a "Parking charge notice may be issued to the registered keeper" and to logon using the serial number provided to view the details.

I had advised him not to logon as not only could it be a phishing scam but also it may admit some sort of liability if you were to logon? (Obviously not an expert on this but...?)

Anyone else had this form of "Fine"

Myparkingcharge.co.uk are simply a payment portal for many parking companies

I would suggest that you sit back and await follow up letters

  • As highlighted by Beamerguy, Myparkingcharge.co.uk seems to be a front for sister companies Excel and VCS.

A work colleague's in-laws received one of these window tickets a few weeks ago. It was totally deficient as a Notice to Driver and given the absence of any company details being included on the ticket, anyone could be forgiven for thinking that it was a phishing scam.

In the case of my work colleague's in-laws, a VCS Notice to Keeper arrived in the post earlier this week.

It's likely that your husband will receive a Notice to Keeper from either Excel or VCS in a few weeks' time. All you can do for now is sit, wait and do some homework on recent Excel / VCS cases here on MSE and over on pepipoo.

My question has to be if ticket did not reference Excel or VCS, who does the signage if any belong to.

What right would Excel or VCS to access data from the DVLA

would that be an anpr type ticket , if no valid ticket placed on car , or is this a simple "you ring us and give us your details" scam

  • In my work colleague's in-laws' case, there were VCS signs in the car park (albeit rubbish ones).

BG - you raise an interesting point about their right to access keeper details from DVLA records - in view of the wholly deficient Notice to Driver.

    Hi.
I've read the sticky and notes but I'm way too confused....:(

I got a notice charge on my car windscreen from https://www.myparkingcharge.co.uk. I saw the bloke put it on my car and he was taking photos of my car. I took my own photos of course. The 'ticket' has a reference number and date. I've been on the website to look and its £60 to pay plus the photos are there.

Now I have been done for not parking in the bay. In fact my tyres are on the disabled bays side hatchings. This was due to the width of the parking space. I know my fault.

The retail park is managed by VCS Sheffield and has APNR cameras and is IPC, amongst other things I noticed on the signage's around the parking area. I also took a photo of it but the writing is so small.

What do I do? I mean it was 'my fault' for not parking correctly but the extortionate fee is shocking......

Help needed. Hubby wants to pay it for fear of debt collectors.
In all my 10years of driving, I've never had a parking fine, ticket or anything. I'm such a !!!! today!
