No, you don't send it directly to the practice, you raise it formally. It would possibly need to go to NHS England (unless there's a local/regional health board covering your surgery) which will ensure there is a formal audit trail to your request and that deadlines are adhered to.

Have a read of this website, do some searches and see if there are similar questions raised. Get a feel for how questions are framed. Put a draft up here and we will hone it to hit the right nerve ends at your practice.

    https://www.whatdotheyknow.com

This doesn't need to be a knee-jerk job, take a bit of time to get your head around things.

As above post it up on here, however i would add that there is nothing wrong with sending to the practice first and giving them say two working days to get back to you, you could/should say you are doing this as you would preffer not to have to raise a formal complaint/request with NHS England.

Some people get scared by posting information on public forums such as this, however if you are open honest and truthful then you have nothing to worry about, in fact asking for advice could be used in your favour as it shows you are being reasonable in dealing with this

I'm not bothered by posting this online. I need as much help as possible as I'm sick of having to deal with this and the story keeps changing! I will wright out an email and post it here.... or if anyone with any experience feels they can write it and I copy and past that would be great? If not I will have a read and get my head around it all later when I'm home. Thank you all so much for your help, it has eased my stress levels slightly

Thank you for your reply. I really hope the manager can cancel these as it really does stress me out. you say I have grounds under the equality act, but apparently I put my reg in correctly! The 90 minute over sty was taking my partner to the doctors followed by blood tests in the treatment room.

The fact it took 90 minutes is not my fault! And I wasn't even aware there was a 90 time limit all I knew was I had to put my reg in the machine so they knew I was using the damn surgery!

I'm not going to pay up so I wish they would just hurry up and take me to court and stop hassling me for money. i thought it had to go to court before debt collectors got involved? Nothing I say to get them off my back had worked so I'll just wait for a court letter

Don't you think your case is one to take to those journalists? I do. They are breaching Government policy and of course the clinic remains liable for the harassment of you (and it sounds to me like you may meet the definition of disability due to a long-term condition):

According to Page 1 of the NHS Car Parking management document:

    https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/481556/HTM0703NovemberUpdated.pdf

    • NHS organisations are responsible for the actions of private contractors who run car parks on their behalf.
    • NHS organisations should act against rogue contractors in line with the relevant codes of practice where applicable.
    • Contracts should not be let on any basis that incentivises additional charges e.g. ‘income from parking charge notices only’.

The contract with ParkingEye breaches this Government guidance as they are incentivised by distributing as many parking charge notices as it possibly can to NHS patients, otherwise they make no money.

What part of the word 'incentivised' don't they understand? Have they missed the fact these contracts are just the ones that the Government intended to stamp out?

    When did they sign up?

How dare they think it is OK for patients to be fined and taken to court? How dare they?

On what excuse are they disregarding the policy principles still, in 2017, when these were first stated by the Government in 2013?

I would be showing the 2 journalists this thread. I gave you their email addresses.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

She lied, it refers to NHS Car parks and premises, seems to fit the definition of the health centre car park to a tee
why not leave a review on the NHS choices site http://www.nhs.uk/Services/GP/MapsAndDirections/DefaultView.aspx?id=44496
