Thanks Beanie, it was nice to get out for a change.

Thanks HSL, the first sweet pea shoots are appearing which is good. 🙂 Hope you get a chance to get yours started soon.

Paws, it absolutely is a full time job dealing with getting the kids shoes & clothes and also sorting out the outgrown stuff and I only have 2 kids. 😂

Yes free pudding is always good, it was still edible but my sticky toffee pudding definitely had a burnt taste to it and DH’s choux bun was a bit crispy. 😂

I have done a bit of indoor walking this morning and need to get organised for work this afternoon. DS is refusing to get dressed so is still in his pjs. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I have been keeping up with my walking every morning, hopefully I will see some results on the scales soon. 😢

I have paid some survey money off my 0% CC and also some towards the robot vacuum. We were going to clear the balance of the robot vac with this month's council tax money however we now need it towards DH's car repairs. 😭 So hopefully we can use March's council tax money instead - we still paid a bit extra off so the balance is just under £200 now.

I have gone through the books that were in the spare room and now have a box to send to ziffit. Only £6 but better than nothing and I won't read them again. I can put the money into the christmas savings when it arrives. I still have a lot of books in there that they didn't want though so not sure where I can do with them, a lot of charities don't seem to want books any more.

I also found some empty storage boxes in the spare room so have used them to store the clothes I have bought the kids in the next size up. I need to stick a list of what's in each box on top though so I remember what's in there.

I have finally sorted out some of the kids old clothes to go to be made into memory cushions. I had paid the deposit in 2020 and still had £38 to pay so I have paid it and will send the clothes off tomorrow.

Sold some more stuff on v!nted so another £8 coming shortly. Need to get some more stuff on there. I bundled some things up that weren't selling and am giving them a month, if they still don't sell they are going in the charity bag.

Also managed to put out 2 bags of stuff for the last charity collection - the spare room is looking much tidier, just need DH to sell the 2 boxes of stuff he has sitting there. Still need to look under the bed though 😱 I know on one side there is the toddler bed and baby gate but not sure about the other side (no doubt more of DH's rubbish).

Managed to get some cute unicorn and rainbow themed curtains for DD's new room for £16 which is  decent price. I got some colour samples for a roller blind as well so once we have decided we will order that too.

I was taking the washing out of the machine today and realised that DH is still a teenager - he had put a load of stuff in the wash that had been worn once for 2 hours or so then flung to the end of the bed for days and instead of either wearing them again or putting them away he put them into the washing basket. 😖 Because I don't have enough actual washing to deal with apparently. 😑

    You’ve been busy.

Mr SA is exactly like that with his clothes, drives me nuts.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • All sounding good. We pay our council tax over 12 months which works well for our budget but then when I read about the 2 free months on diaries on here I get the urge to switch back to 10 months so that I can have the "free" money, and yes I know how ridiculous I sound 🤣
  • I hadn’t considered before how lucky I am that I practically have the wrestle the thrice worn T-shirt off the husband to get it in the wash.

Hi all, thanks for dropping in.

Working early shift yesterday and again today (I hate 5am alarms).

I took the car home then walked down to nursery to get DS, it was freezing but sunny so a nice walk.

On the way back DS spotted 2 cats and 1 came over for a pet. He was a lovely wee black cat and very friendly. A lady was getting into her car and told us his name was Paddy. 😂 DS was thrilled that the cat came over to see us.

I bought 2 raspberry canes from £land at £1.50 each and also 2 tiny succulent plants. No idea if the succulents will survive my house as aloe veras & flowering cactus hated it and refused to live but my African violets are perfectly happy. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I repotted the succulents and planted the raspberry canes in the garden. Fingers crossed they all survive.

DS was very excited about the raspberries and asked if he could wait in the garden until they were ready. 🤣

Both kids had great fun running about in the cold and digging in the mud. They actually refused to come back in the house.

  • I am envious of your sweet pea progress. Mine have made it from the shop to home at least, an improvement on recent years.

i am also a fan of the Shea butter hand cream if I can get a decent offer

Hi paws & redo, I have been rubbish at updating this week.

Paws, DS can be very sweet but then tells me I'm annoying and to leave him alone! At least he doesn't try to send me to my room for 5 mins like he does to DH. 😂

Redo, my sweet peas are looking good so far but I need to sow more. I also have jalapeño seedlings appearing. 😀 The shea butter hand cream is so lovely but so expensive.

I have been busy putting things on to V!nted, I have sold quite a few things and still have a handful of things to list. I will be removing some things and adding to the charity bag in the next 2 weeks as they have been on for months and aren't budging.

DH has also finally managed to get some things from the spare room onto eb@y 🎉 and has already sold 3 of the more expensive items. He indicated that he'll use some of the money to pay extra off his car loan - not sure what he thinks is happening with the rest of the money!

Hoping to get the spare room cleared out a bit more this week - need to sort under the bed and move the chest of drawers into the wardrobe of the small room DD is currently in (if they will fit).

I also need to contact a man with a van to get a price for moving our dismantled bed frame & mattress to my mum's house and bringing the dismantled daybed and mattresses back to ours.

Got some survey money through so have paid £40 off the big CC and am expecting some more money through soon, think I will put that towards DH's car loan as it is interest bearing.

Still adding small/odd amounts to the Christmas fund so it's up to £44 now.

Took DS to the library last week as he'd been begging to go 🤷‍♀️ and got him a library card and some books out. He enjoyed looking around the library but left me to choose his books for him! 😂

The kids have been difficult this week, especially DS, he's being very defiant again. 😢 I'm so tired of shouting and it just doesn't work but I default into it when I get stressed out with everything. DH is also being super needy again so it's like having 3 small children in the house sometimes.

It hasn't helped that both DH & I were on early shifts so like tetchy zombies and I'm also hormonal. 😢 I actually cried at work when I was forced to go onto a teams call at the last minute and have never used it before. I completely screwed it up and no one could hear me, so glad it was audio only. 😂

Luckily I escaped to the toilet before anyone saw actual tears but my bloodshot eyes and big red nose might have been a giveaway (I am a very ugly crier 😂). Also luckily the rest of the shift that day were all men so no one noticed, although a lot of them are older men who have been married for many years and know when to leave well enough alone. 🤔
