  • Sorry you've had a rubbish week, hope this week is a better one for you. Oh and I totally empathize on feeling like having 3 children sometimes

    Thanks Dancing. 😊

Today I was a bit more productive, I managed to move the chest of drawers from the spare room into the wardrobe of the room DD will be moving out of. I then managed to empty the contents of some boxes into the drawers. Also cleared out a storage tower and moved all the kids art & crafts stuff into it and put it into the other wardrobe.

Sold another couple of items on v!nted so will get them dropped off tomorrow.

I walked down to collect DS from nursery with DD in the pram as it was dry and sunny. Coming back is always worse as we live at the top of a big hill, I was exhausted. 😂

I managed to strip my bed and hang the sheets out on the line, they dried as it was so windy. Had to be careful they didn't fly off though.

You have been a busy bee.
When is DD moving into her new room?

  • That’s rotten to be dropped into a last minute call like that. I’d be cross.

Sounds like you’ve got loads done! Wish I could do half as much

Beanie, I have to do things when I get the notion or it doesn't get done. 😂

Hoping to move DD into her new room in the next couple of weeks, we need to dismantle the spare bed in there and move it out then set up her new bed (DS's old toddler sized one) and move her drawers in. Then we just have to add the new light shade and wall stickers then put up the new blind (ordered, hopefully will arrive at the end of the week) and curtains before moving her toys and books in.

Paws, it was mostly angry tears - the big bosses have finally started showing their faces in the office again 😐 and now have it in their heads that we all know how to use teams and should be included in (mostly unnecessary) meetings. We don't know how to use it as we have been coming into the office for the last 2 years unlike them! 😂 And we haven't ever needed it for our jobs!

I have been in the mood to get things out of that spare room so DD can get her new room so have just went with it. Doesn't hurt that I have a week off between shifts due to the way my job share works. I have been avoiding that room for months now so trying to make up for lost time.

I messaged a man with a van and he said they can take the bed & mattress to my mum's, collect the day bed and mattresses from there and bring them back for £50 which seems reasonable. Just waiting to hear back on a time for the day I suggested, fingers crossed he gets back to me.

I have a lot of coats/jackets and dresses hanging in the wardrobe of the spare room so I have to decide what to do with them. I would like to keep most of the dresses so will have to get rid of some other hanging things in my main wardrobe to make space.

I'm rubbish at getting rid of my clothes though as I look at it, think I've not worn it for ages but I like it so then don't want to get rid of it. I have so many clothes that I don't really wear. 😟

  • I’m like that. I take it out and it goes back in just in case I decide to wear it! X

Willow I’m glad it’s not just me 😂 I really struggle to get rid of clothes in particular for some reason.

Yes Beanie, I think £50 is reasonable and it will save us a lot of time & effort. My mum’s house is only 10 mins away so it’s not a huge amount of driving for the guys either.

Got a date & time organised so we just need to have the bed dismantled and downstairs ready for the guys to collect. We will help my mum get the day bed & mattresses into her hall as well.

DD’s new roller blind has been despatched so will hopefully arrive in the next few days.

It’s snowing here again today 😩 DH walked DS down to nursery and I took DD out into the garden. DH said DS wasn’t very happy walking in the snow 😂 he hates walking to nursery in any case (not a morning person). He doesn’t mind walking home though. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Had a fairly lazy day yesterday, only got some washings done, made leek & potato soup, cheese puffs and onion bhajis. DH made butter chicken for dinner which used up some chicken that was in the freezer.

No real plans today, DH & I are both working tomorrow so my mum will be watching the kids. DS will be happy as his aunt is collecting him from nursery then gran watching him.  My sister always takes DS to the shop for a sweet after nursery so he loves it when she picks him up. 😂

I have been trying to cut down on using the washing machine as some days it’s on 3 times (at least!).

I’ve decided to prewash the previous days cloth nappies with the night nappy in the morning rather than the days nappies in the evening & the night nappy the following morning. So using the wm once rather than twice.

Other than that I need to do at least one washing a day to keep on top of everything.

Kids bedding is changed weekly and washed together and our bedding can do 2 weeks rather than 1 to cut another wash (unless very yucky). Towel wash is also weekly.

I’m only using the tumble dryer for towels and bedding and using the heated airer for everything else. Once the weather gets a bit better I can hang nearly everything out (I still half dry the towels in the TD to stop them going crunchy).

  • I was about four times a week and looking forward to the weather warming so that I can get everything out and dry. x
