    Go me!
Cursory sort out of desk aka hotspot revealed home contents/buildings insurance reminder.
Checked out options on two comparison sites, inc quidco. Cancelled old policy, took out new policy via compare the meerkat. So have saved £70+, will get 2-4-1 cinema tickets plus soft toy which will probably give to great nephews.
Have ironed. DD face timed, took her on walk around to see the pets.

    Afternoon all.

LW, amazed at what you achieved yesterday, very organised.
Kaz, hope your migraine goes soon.
Valli, you could always sell the soft toy on ebeast.

So I finally gave in this morning (but not until I'd changed the bedding and sort of dragged the hoover round) and went to the walk in centre. They think I may have fractured the ankle but don't do xrays on Sundays there and I couldn't be bothered to wait hours in York, so I'm going back tomorrow for that. For now, I am strapped up and on crutches.

So I'm another having a lazy afternoon.

Narco we have one of those energy meter thingys and it really focuses your mind on how much power is being used. I thought of you actually as bought one of those window bird feeders from L&dl on Friday but got a feeling it won't be a success - mainly because one of the suction pads keeps coming undone so the feeder is on a bit of an angle. May have to invest in a proper one; this one didn't cost much (and it shows).

Another thing about getting washing dry is give it an extra spin after the normal cycle. Sounds obvious but makes it dry much quicker and probably costs far less than a tumble dryer or dehumidifier. I hung some on the clothes horse yesterday and it was fine to put away today, with no extra electricity used - just had it next to a radiator.

Have you tried putting something that removes grease on the suction pad of your feeder - nail varnish remover, antifreeze, white vinegar? And also on the window as maybe there is something you can't see. Good luck with the bird enticing anyway - I'm sure they won't mind if the feeder is on the tilt unless the food actually falls out.

I've been to church this morning then did some gardening and now back to reports - yes I know that isn't quite right, but it is necessary. My aim is to check the one I finished yesterday, finish another so I can email both to uni tomorrow. If I can start another I'll be happy. Mr N has gone round to his mum's to continue packing, they are both coming back for dinner later.

It sounds as though your weekend has been put to good use, Valli.

(((Hugs))) Ionfan. You don't very often sound stressed but you do at the moment. Healing vibes for Mr I, and I hope things calm down for you both soon.

Jazee you will go and get the ankle x-rayed tomorrow, won't you please.

OH demolished Christmas pretty much on his own, and his birthday dinner went well last night. Between us everything's been washed up and mostly put away but I'm cream-crackered so I'm having a bit of a duvet day, leaving my pit to only venture into the kitchen to eat leftovers. I heartily recommend Pavlova for breakfast. House not looking too tip-like.
    Better is good enough.

Well my planned day of doing nothing went awry. I managed to spill a cup of coffee on a white rug, so after trying to sponge it off and failing, I put it through the WM.

Then as the rug was already up I decided I needed to sweep and mop the floor too.

Back to doing nothing again now other than eating and watching the football.

HB, sounds like you've had a lovely weekend. And yes I will go to the horse piddle tomorrow, they are expecting me and DH is dropping me off at 7.45. So I may not post tomorrow morning.

See you all on the next thread.

    .

Wow, just checked prices. May well do, thanks.

People could buy a cheap insurance policy e.g. A travel policy and pay less than they are bidding for this toy!

Hello all. Just woken up after a mammoth kip on the sofa while DH was watching football. I got woken up really early this morning by BoyDog having another seizure, and he had a second one this afternoon, so obviously his medication needs to be reviewed. Poor thing :(

We watched Small in his first ever real football tournament this morning. Had to be in Shrewsbury for 9am  and he did really well considering he was the youngest and smallest one there. *proud mum*

Consequently, no flying except WM today, but I'm OK with that as Thursday saw me ironing for four hours solid. My calf muscles really ached after that.

Hoping all poorlies start to feel better soon. Sending hugs to Iona and Jazee and anyone else who needs/wants one xxx
