No I didn't go to the doctor, she has had tonsillitis before. This time was much worse with sores on her throat etc. It was not getting better on its own, and here temperature was very high. I wouldn't give them willynilly .
She's getting control over her temperature now, and the throat is slightly improved.
We stayed in the apartment block, in the early evening we did get in a swim etc. Had lasagna and chips on the roof terrace and listened to music on bfs iPad.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Oh poor girl, not nice being ill on holiday
I hope the antibiotics do the trick.

We went for a drive today. Wondered around some town or other, far too hot! Poor Dgd then started to get blisters and so even though I bought some plasters, it's been one disaster after another. Bf has gone off on his own and has been in a strange mood all day. I have no idea why or even where he has gone. Which is difficult to explain to a 9 year old.
I am having a wonder why I bother moment.
I don't have the patience of a saint, I am not a mind reader, and basically I am fed up of it.
I think this will be the last time I bring Dgd and Bf on the same holiday again.
I think I am destined to be piggy in the middle with him and my family.
I know I have not done anything to justify his reactions and if he's cross because of Dgd not being 100% then he is just an idiot.
Well sometimes that's what he is. A spoilt child in an adults body.
I hope that I don't have to come back to Spain again. Twice we have been here and neither time has been exactly a happy experience. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

Rustled up cold ham and boiled egg salad and chips and stayed in last night. Dgd has earache to add to her list of problems. Bf returned in a better mood, which was a relief, but I did tell him how frustrated and upset that I was yesterday and confused Dgd is.
Two more days here. Trying to make the most of it. Luckily the apartment is comfortable. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
We had a much better day yesterday. We took a picnic and went to Santa Pola beach. The water is very shallow there, and it was very calm.
I finished my third book this week. We played ball in the water. Dgd started to feel much better, after 2 1/2 days on the antibiotics. Only the earache now, and she's started eating more.
In the evening we went out to an Indian restaurant, and had a good evening too.
Our last day today, so we will no doubt be going back to one of the beaches again. I only have random food left, so we will need to get a few things in the local shop for lunch. I will be throwing out some onions as bought a packet when I should really have just bought one.
I still have two envelopes left, so should manage now without opening them, which will leave me €220 for Christmas with Mum. Plus what ever I have in my purse at the end of the day.
I am ready to go home now. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Really glad yesterday was better and that DGD is on the mend. Safe journey home0

I am 99% packed ready to come home. Dgd is still having trouble with her right ear. So it will be a trip to the walk in Clinic when we get home tomorrow if we are home in time.
The weather has been cooler as a little windy today. I won't miss the salty water drying out my hair and skin though. I will be indulging in all my lotions and potions when I get home. But the weather has been good for my hands. The pain is much reduced. Although I brought that Perskindol with me for my knees, ankles and left hip especially. Unfortunately not a very romantic smell!
On my fourth book.
More chicken soup for the woman's soul.
BF managed half an hour or so on a windsurfing board thanks to the wind today. I videoed a little bit on my mobile so he can have a reminder. He didn't know until he returned.
We're just getting ready now to go out for something to eat. No cooking for me. Yeah! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
We're back home again after a straight forward journey thankfully.
Just popped into the doctors to get Dgd checked over in the walk in clinic as her ears still hurt. Luckily it's open until 5pm
I also popped to Tesco for a meal deal, milk and packed lunch stuff. As we're back to normal tomorrow (well I hope we are). When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
