Thank you Cherryfudge and SH.
Life continues to be a whirl of work, with both places getting busier. Thankful to have got to half term but much to do on the work fronts and at home.
The DDs are in full swing of exams. They are both working hard and putting in the effort revision wise...will be glad when the exams are all done.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

Happy half term XX
It is a relief but I know what you mean about lists of jobs!
Take care XXXNevertheless she persisted.3 -
Thank you SH and Buffy,
I seem to have spent a lot of the weekend sleeping. I think it’s the busyness of the last half term catching up with me. I did take the youngest 3 out yesterday. We had planned to meet with another family at a local theme park. Unfortunately the other family couldn’t make it at the last minute and I didn’t want to disappoint my children, as we rarely go and it’s a “big treat” in their eyes, so we went for a few hours. They had a great time on all the rides. I had a good time admiring the lupins and other other colourful cottage garden flowers that they had dotted around! It’s the most I would spend on a day out, so need to regain focus and plan the more relaxed beach days that we all enjoy.
It’s half term, so only have to go to one job this week, but have huge amounts to do for Job 1 and in the house and garden. DD2 had a day here last week, kindly looking after DS3 who wasn’t feeling well. While she was here she did some weeding for me and filled binbags worth 😳. I’ve taken those to the tip this morning and got rid of some more outside clutter of the ex’s . Off to get some compost in a minute so that I can get some late sweet corn sown, a second sowing of beetroot and lettuce and pot up the tomatoes.
Tomorrow is payday from Job 1 so need to plan very carefully here each penny is going. May has been a weird month. I have been invited out a few times which has completely thrown me on an emotional level and has meant I have spent more. I can’t do that in June as I need to be completely focussed on getting this mortgage through.

Glad you had some fun things for you this month even if you now have to rein it in again.

Thank you SH, May has certainly be different, but need to regain focus in June.
Its been a mix of work and house jobs this week. I was thankful to have some time out in the garden and although only managed a bit in comparison to what needs to be done, it was nonetheless gardening that made a visible difference🙂.
My food spending seems to be constantly climbing at the moment despite us eating a fairly simple, mainly vegetarian diet. We have a community picnic type event for the Jubilee tomorrow so have bought a couple of extra bits to pack in the picnic and will make flapjacks, brownies and a Victoria sponge to take too. Today’s local event included a treasure hunt style activity for the children and a garden safari for the adults. I so enjoyed the chance to see other village gardens. Some had magnificent alliums rising like a mini forests of pom-poms! Others had the most beautiful fragrant roses 🌹. The children enjoyed the treasure hunt part🙂.

Cost of living rise is definitely biting. Glad you are finding low cost activities to entertain the family. I love alliums too - they are one of my fave plants. I have about 3 but would love more...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
