Lovely news HSL, glad to hear you’ve met someone. It’s good for you to prioritise your own happiness and fun when you work so hard so much of the time, between your jobs and family.Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

Thank you everyone for your kind words😊.
Still madly juggling jobs. This last half term of the academic year is always a bit crazy but combined with Job 2 getting busier, it makes the juggling a bit more frantic! DD3 has now finished all her exams so glad that that stress has gone. She has her part time job at the same place as my job 2 so she will carry on there over the summer.
Payday was on Thursday. Yesterday I took a couple of hours to sit down and look carefully at the figures coming in and out. The existing mortgage has gone up by £120 in recent months and the electricity has gone up by £110. The electricity company seem to send me a plethora of letters, one minute telling me I’m in credit and the next telling me that what I’m paying isn’t enough to cover their annual forecast. The latest direct debit rise was last week, so am very conscious of rising costs and am thankful I was able to go full time at Job 1 at the beginning of the year. Finalising the new mortgage is a priority.
Looking at July as a whole has made me feel a little worried. In a week or so, I’m on a residential visit which is fine but means I’ll not be able to do my shifts for Job 2 which will, in turn, mean less money. The following week it’s DD1’s graduation which means an outlay for accommodation and petrol. Juggling the extra costs with less money will be a challenge, especially as my savings have been hit in recent months dealing with other costs.
On a positive note, regular repayment for the window loan has gone out. I also cut back for one month on the legal money ( have been paying £125 a month for the last 6 months to build up an amount for conveyancing fees) but figured that for one month, rather than building up a balance to sit in the solicitor’s account, I paid £50 instead and sent the rest to paying some off a credit card. This brings the balance on the card down to £54, so within reach of getting rid of it altogether 🙂.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

In the midst of the busyness I was able to finish work at Job 1 earlier which meant I got home at 4. DD2 met us at home and suggested the beach. She has got into daily swimming in the sea so we went to what is our nearest, accessible by road, cove. I tend to avoid it, as it features in a TV series so is usually packed with tourists but in early evening we squeezed into the last possible parking space. It was lovely to be next to the sea. It’s been so mad, I haven’t been on a cliff top for a few weeks 😳🙄, but so good to walk along the cliff path and see the sparkling turquoise sea. There were quite a few swimmers and paddle boarders enjoying the late afternoon sun. A relaxing start to the weekend!paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.
