Thank you Spendless, SH and Cherryfudge.
Can’t believe I’ve been off work for a week already! I seem to have spent quite a bit of time trying to sort out the house and declutter. I’ve paid £30 for a bulk waste collection to pick up an old sofa and fridge. I’ve spent a day sorting out my bedroom 😳 but I can see progress and at least 2 bin bags of clutter have left my room. I’m trying to be more ruthless which is tricky when I’m a bit of a hoarder - I rationalised that there is no point keeping a desk that is on the point of collapse all the time and is beyond fixing, so that has gone and I will look out for a new to me desk in the charity shops. Interspersed with the tidying have been a couple of beach trips and spending time with my friend, as well as shifts at Job 2.
Moneywise payment went out for the window loan so that is now £675. I’m about to go to the PO and bank £30 of tips which will go off a debt and bring that figure down.
Happy Thursday everyone 🙂.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

Life sounds as busy as ever. Not been to the beach for ages and then when I do think about it I've usually just taken the dogs to the groomers and want them to stay fluffy for a bit longer.

Well done on decluttering - I too know how hard that can be.
Well done for paying for the bulky goods clearance too and the OP to the window. You're getting there.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

@Honeysucklelou2 well done! Clutter clearing has big psychological benefits I find; I think it reinforces that I'm on a different track. Onwards and upwards love Humdinger xx3

Thank you Lucielle, SH, Humdinger and Spendless.
The decluttering continued this week with another boot load to the tip. I have a pile mounting of the ex’s stuff that I intended to take around but DS2 told me it makes him cross when I return it, so for the minute, the pile is sat there.
Had a lovely weekend - spent one day with my nephews celebrating one of their birthdays. I rarely get to see them as they have lived abroad for many years so this was the first opportunity to celebrate a birthday with them 🙂. It was a little spendy as we went to an animal park but since it was birthday treat and such a special day the cost was justified.
The following day was more simple - a picnic next to the river up on the moors. The children enjoyed playing in and around the river. It has a very slow flow and was cold enough to help on a hot day! Dragonflies were darting along above the water and quite a few butterflies were around. My friend ( henceforth SO - significant other!) and I just enjoyed the time as did the children.🙂
Today has been a day of tackling frogs. First up was a smear test first thing. Can’t remember the last one so must be some time ago so decided it was a job that should be done. I’ve sugar soaped a few walls as a prelude to painting and ordered a new bathroom suite as the bathroom does need sorting ASAP. Reeling from the amount I’ve spent but it has come from savings and not had to go into debt for it.

Fantastic on the decluttering.
I'd just send Ex's stuff to the tip.
Well done on the frogs. Great news on the bathroom. I know it's been a saga over the years. Glad you are having fun with your friend.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I think I'd be more inclined to drop ex's stuff at his house, especially if it annoys him but that's just me
