Have to say it was joy to make normal ( to me) lasagne for tea last night. 8 around the table again...sheer joy!
Here's hoping EDD feels better soon and can join in the blackberrying - I enjoy it.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

We normally try and go blackberrying but it has been a couple of years. We have been to the pick your own for strawberries and raspberries this month and the weird one has asked about blackberry picking so we shall see.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉3

Glad you enjoyed the birthday meal.
Cake sounds fab.
I've done lots of blackberry picking in my life and normally glean a few each year.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Can’t believe it’s almost time to go back to Job 1. I’ve enjoyed the break, have cleared quite a bit of clutter from the house, got some decorating done and had chance to meet up with friends and family at various points. I started the prep for the new term yesterday so will carry on today and get my mind back into it!
SO has offered to help me organise a skip to get rid of the building materials that are still in the garden. It has been a struggle to accept help - I think I’ve become too independent minded but it would be a big help to get things cleared.
I got the school shopping done yesterday in terms of new shoes for DS3, new drinks bottles and stationary for the DDs.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

I agree with letting SO help. You probably (hope I'm not being presumptuous) do all the cooking and this could be his way of repaying the favour. Also think how much better you'll feel with the rubbish gone and then you can visualise what you can do with the space.

Really pleased to hear of SO' offer to help, yes accept it. We had a Mixed skip the summer after the 1st lockdown and filled it full of stuff that we should never have kept in the first place.3

Thank you SH, Lucielle, Dawnybabes and Spendless.
SH - Thank you for the film suggestions. I’ll try to watch one over the weekend. It was DD1 pointing out that there is a difference between being independent minded and downright stubborn and proud😳. SO was wondering why I wouldn’t let him help which made me realise I was being too independent minded!
Not looking forward to the mad levels of work across the 2 jobs but have been trying to get ready this week.
On Monday I had a water meter man turn up to try and find, then read the meter. It’s quite hard to find, so I’ve had lots of estimated bills. Turns out they’ve been over estimating all this time , so the meter man thought the next bill would be £0!
Payday was on Wednesday and most direct debits left yesterday. The EF has crawled up to the £200 mark. The window loan is down to £650, so not far to go. I need to see where I can squeeze in overpayments to get it gone. Job 2’s pay should be in today but will end up going out on DS3’s birthday present.
Enjoy Friday everyone.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

That's good news on the water bill but annoying it was paid out in the first place.
