Perhaps you could tell him it will be dropped off at such and such a date by a mutual friend? He would probably be more civil to a third party.
Your weekend sounds lovely and good memories are being made.Well done on the frogs too - and I'm sure you'll love the bathroom once it's done. Think of it as an investment for your savings that will hold its value when currency is depreciating!

Yesterday was quite productive. I took advantage of the hot weather to wash the bedroom curtains and get them line dried before dusk. Sugar soaped the bedroom walls and the hallway and got the hallway painted so that is looking much fresher.
Thats a good way of looking at it Cherryfudge, thank you🙂.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

I would just dump the stuff in his front garden, why should you keep it 😡

Having found myself logged out I thought I'd just read along quietly until I saw the latest re the ex so logged it.
Lou - it isn't your problem if it makes the ex annoyed. He owns that emotion, you don't need to. It makes him annoyed because he knows he's losing control of what you do. Your security measures are clearly working. He was happy enough to get his stuff when he could enter your house, remove items that were in use, take things from walls and leave you a psychological mess over it all. Give him the 'alternative close' Pretty sure I've mentioned this before but it'll be ages ago, you give 2 options, does he want his stuff over at his or dropping off at the tip? Give him a date to reply by (don't tell him what date you're going to the tip as you're giving warning that you'll be out) keep the message unemotional and say if you haven't heard by x you'll assume he wishes you to dispose of it.8 -
I think I am going to read between the lines here but I could be wrong. If him being "angry" means that the children that are living with him are having a hard time then do whatever you need to do to keep them safe. It is very irritating to have to keep hold of those items but I totally understand why you are doing that. You know better than any of us how to proceed. I think all the progress you're making is astounding. Keep going xx

I interpreted it that way too Kitten - but otherwise I'd annoy the hell out of him just because I could

Thank you SH, Spendless, SA & Kitten868.
Spendless - Thank you, you’re right. He was happy enough to take stuff when it suited him, so that annoyance is his emotion. Never thought of it like that before. The children that live there are 17, 20 and 21. The 17 year old really only sleeps there and the 21 year old is more often than not at her bf’s house, so not as concerned about repercussions for them. The 20 year old will join in with the ex being cross. I’ve spent about £500 in skip bags so far so want to limit having to spend out anymore. Some of the junk now would be chargeable at the tip, hence wanting to take it round.
Junk aside, having a good break from Job 1. Yesterday got more flooring down which was a personal victory. I’m not great at DIY so everything I learn to do is a victory!! SO astounds me with his thoughtfulness towards me and my children ...his plans for some days out in the Autumn are things to look forward to🙂.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Glad you have found a SO who is kind and thoughtful.
Can you give any of his old stuff away if it's not saleable.

Thank you SH.
Bit of a spendy day yesterday as I had to buy new blades for the Jigsaw and one more pack of flooring. Worked on the flooring til 11.30 and am so thankful that it’s almost done. I think I’ve got about 5 lengths to go. It’s quite a light coloured flooring so has made that space seem much more light and airy.
The bathroom suite arrived yesterday so have that in boxes around the house at the moment. Got to be brave and call a plumber next!
Rang the bank bank and asked to close the credit card that has been paid off. Took quite a while to explain that I didn’t want it and still, a week or so later, it’s still showing as open 🙄. Bizarrely the second credit card I have that I want to clear next has written t9 me and said the credit limit is rising by £1,500😳. I haven’t requested a rise. I thought it was odd that I clear one and the other does that 🤷♀️.
Hoping the weather will be overcast but dr6 today as lots of washing to dry but don’t want to use the tumble dryer. I can put some in the newly acquired space but not sure that will dry everything!!
